  1. Here's another station wagon I built a while ago. It's box stock other than the tires which are BF Goodrich from a Monogram 59 Cadillac, and I also added a tailgate window which these kits did not come with. I used Bare Metal foil on the trim as usual. I usually prefer to restore models rather than use NOS kits from my stash but this is an exception. I don't often add mirrors or antennas to my models but I do have them. When I display a model with those accessories, I usually hold them on with a bit of putty rather than gluing them. Once in a while I'll pin them. I always appreciate all comments/ questions and do take the time to read them but don't always reply to each one. I hope you like this Plymouth. Eventually I plan to build my 60 Plymouth hardtop to go with it. Thank you for taking the time to look. -Rich
  2. These are old Line Mar toys made in Japan about the time of the real cars. They made many toys that weren't very accurate but these Fords were quite well done other than having overly large wheels and tires. They had a friction motor too. Their 58 Lincoln was another nice one. I have a couple. The Sedan Delivery is one I restored back in the 80's keeping it simple other than detailing some of the chrome. More recently I found 3 more of these (see first photo) and decided to turn them into Del Rios as I like wagons. I did them all together but finished the blue one first. I wasn't going to add vent windows but changed my mind on the second two, also detailing the hubcaps. Wheels and tires are from Racing Champions 57 Rancheros. Side windows are clear sheet styrene. I have many more original and restored/detailed small scale diecasts (Hubley Real Toys/ Real Types, Siku, Husky, to name a few). If there is interest I will post some of them. I forgot to mention I made the tailgate emblems. As always, all comments or questions are welcomed. -Rich
  3. I'm working on foiling a Revell 62 Imperial right now. It's a 4 door, The AMT's were 2 door. Chris is right, your bumper is from AMT. I'll be building an AMT or two at some point also.
  4. Thanks for the information and photos Chris. Hubley was correct with the hubcaps in their kit. I like them and will probably use them when I get around to building another 62 wagon. -Rich
  5. Very nice job, Wick. I really like that front and rear end treatment! Neat idea to have the two hoods too. -Rich
  6. I appreciate your comment.
  7. Ron, that looks great. You really scored at that price!
  8. I've done the same on 1:1 cars.
  9. Yes, it was March 27. I know the website is a bit strange, it almost seems like they aren't operating any more but it's been like that every time I've ordered. There always seems to be a lot out of stock or low in stock but they do update and replenish. I've received my orders quickly every time, usually within a few days. They send an email when the order is shipped. I would trust Don and Carol's son as much as I trust them and they never let me down. -Rich
  10. Thanks for posting the Maverick, Gene. I look forward to seeing how it looks after you work your magic on it. My brother had one back in the day. I always liked it. I may have to get one of these. -Rich
  11. I've ordered from Modelhaus Tires a few times since Modelhaus closed and had no problem at all, and the tires always arrived very quickly. I've noticed they don't always have everything in stock but seem to replenish their supply on a regular basis. -Rich
  12. I agree, Bob. That's why I decided to use them on this one even though I don't think they are correct. -Rich
  13. Chris, Larry, Andy, John, and Gerald, thank you all for your comments!
  14. Thanks Trevor. Yes, these kits are less common. I think the 60 is the easiest to find, frollowed by the 61 and then the 62. -Rich
  15. Thank you Ray, Rusty, Tom, David, and David. I appreciate the comments. -Rich
  16. Yes, it is and should be fun as far as I'm concerned. It wasn't as much fun back in the 80's when I built models for a living though, but I liked what I was doing most of the time. Now I build whatever I want, whenever i want. If I didn't enjoy it I would stop. -Rich
  17. Bruce, I'm not much into customs either but this is one beautiful build! It looks great from all angles and the paint is superb. -Rich
  18. This was a built kit that I took apart, stripped, and restored as needed. I used the kit tires and hubcaps instead of changing to larger tires as I usually do on these Hubley Fords. These hubcaps are the same as the ones used on the 13 inch 1:1 62 Fairlane wheels. I don't think they were made in the larger size for the full size cars. I liked the looks of these but have a set of Modelhaus 62 Galaxie hubcaps to use on the next 62 wagon I build. Please feel free to comment, I appreciate all, good or bad. Thank you for looking. -Rich My 60 Plymouth wagon will probably be next up.
  19. Thanks Gene, That's true and I always enjoy seeing your great work too. -Rich
  20. Very, very nice Al. Love the color too. I'm sure it will be nice to have this reminder of your grandfather. I have a couple of things from my grandfather and every time I look at them I get good memories. Your photos make me want to build my 60 Mercury but I think it will be a while with all my other projects. Thanks for posting yours. -Rich
  21. I agree. It's looking great Ken!
  22. Paul, it's coming along nicely. It's going to look great when you are done!
  23. Ken I took a look. It's coming out great. I'm sure it's going to look fantastic when it's done. I have a 340 Six pack in my 70 Challenger T/A.
