Here's another one I used an NOS kit to build. I like Oldsmobiles and have quite a few. My first car in 1967 was a 63 Super 88 and my dad had a white 63 wagon. One of my 1:1 cars now is a 63 Dynamic 88. I have one of my 59 kits painted and in progress so it will be coming at some point. This one is box stock including the original tires. All the trim is Bare Metal Foil, the grille, interior, hubcaps, etc. are detailed. I also widened the track a bit. I noticed in some of the photos that a couple of the tires are crooked. They are not glued and must have shifted as I moved the car around. Thanks as always for taking the time to look. All comments are always appreciated. I was set up to take photos of the 62 Imperial I finished today but decided to post this one first. -Rich

I remember well the Testor's small bottles were 10 cents when I started building in 1959. When the AMT spray lacquer came out a few years later I used a lot of it but never used the AMT bottles, I don't even remember seeing them. I still use the Odds and Ends paint and the unopened bottles are still good. Once opened, I've had some go bad. I really liked the Pactra paints too and used a lot. I have a bunch of old unopened bottles. There are Testor's marked 30, 35, and 40 cents (see photos.) I'm still using these old paints and very few have gone bad. I think there are a bunch of discontinued colors. I hope the photos bring back some memories for us older guys. -Rich

Thanks Dominik. Walid, thank you very much. I don't take WIP photos too often and don't have any of this model. Sorry. Thank you Cliff. -
I like Edsels and you did a fine job on this wagon. It looks great!

Thanks Jim, I'm sure there are plenty of other guys who build better than I do, but I do my best. -Rich Harry, thanks so much. All the good comments overwhelm me. David, thank you. I learned to drive at age 11 in an old army jeep and a brand new 1962 Ford tractor. Thanks very much, Bill.

Thanks very much, Eric. I'm glad you like my models. I joined and started posting at the beginning of April. When I have time, I post models more often. I plan to continue as long as there are folks who want to see my work. I just posted an SMP 62 Chevy pickup in the correct Under Glass section and will be posting more there too as well as more in the Diecast section. -Rich

Thanks for your comments Bob. I've had people say I should use mirrors, antennas, etc. I have plenty and do put them on some models, but leave them off most of my builds. I can always add them later. Most of the models I build are 50's and 60's cars and the radio, mirror, heater, backup lights, etc. were options and many cars didn't have them. It took me a long time to find a mirror for my 1:1 61 Chrysler, for instance. For years I've used Mortite to attach mirrors, etc. It stays sticky too so mirrors, etc. can be removed and put back. I agree, the 62 Chevrolet pickup is one of my favorites. I really like the grille and side trim. -Rich
