  1. Dang. We all need friends like that. Stay lucky.
  2. Really no such thing as too many. But some folks set limits. I would like to get a few done. To each their own. It is a hobby and should be fun.
  3. The only one i would worry about is the wife. We have 10.5 acres and can't see any neighbors.
  4. I used to have 6 vehicles and 6 motorcycles which 3 where for our 2 kids. But none really projects. Do have 1 1;1 project now.
  5. Eyes and fingers. I have s lighted magnifier that helps.
  6. Where can i get that 4door body? Would like at least 2. Chop the top, channel the body, n Z the frame.
  7. They had a few cars last year on one table.
  8. Thanks. The kit has a highboy or channeled frame. The kit has a blower or 3 carb set up. Think i am going tri carb.
  9. Thanks. Some times i get lucky.
  10. That dash is awesome. Well the whole build is but that dash work is top notch. It all looks great. Thanks for the ghost tip.
  11. Thanks. Those tires are nice and a few wider sizes would be nice.
  12. Thanks. I need to get to the basement with a handful of parts and spend a few hours on the airbrush.
  13. Looks cool. Kind of looks like a tail dragger. Nice work.
  14. Sat around looking at a few kits n looking at my supply of paints. Could not go down the stairs so spray cans what i had. Air brush is in the basement. Duplicolor metallic green stood out. Primed n painted. kept looking and it needed something. Opened my 49 merc kit and there it was, pinstripes. these rims n tires are very nice. Now a few more decisions. The windshield frame was warped on the sprue. May try hot water to fix.
  15. Dang those are nice. 49 merc and 48 roadmaster are 2 of my dream cars.
  16. Thanks. Those caps came with the kit. Damage is on the roof and trunk.
  17. I have used polishing pads then clear coat then polish that down then wax. But that really comes looking like a show car finish. Wet sanding with the pads and a drop of dish soap then waxing gives a nice shine and doesn't look thick. As to waxing then re painting i just did that on revells 29 model a. It was a duplicolor green. Waxed it seen a bad spot. I used alcohol pads to scrub and wipe down the body. Then cleaned all panel lines and alcohol pad again. Resprayed it and looks good. Already waxed it again. But do this at your own risk. ?
  18. I like to prime more than not. As mentioned above it helps to find blemishes. Also depending on the paint primer gives the paint something to bond to. With out primer a few sharp bumps may just take a chunk of paint off. In the warm weather i really like duplicolor and cooler weather badgers primer well it is sold under a name that starts style maybe like styliners or something like that. Also a good primer base will make brushed on paint look better too.
  19. I have 10 or maybe 15 kits started in some form or another. Get stumped as the direction i want a kit to go. Maybe get one started and change my mind on rims or tires. Sometimes the paint just goes south. I get having 2 or 3 going only stopping on one to wait for glue or paint to dry. But i bet i have 15 or so started. But life has gone side ways. Trying to get it together again so with any luck i will get some done. So how many have you got started and put back on the shelf? I remember when i bought one and finished one.
  20. Thanks. The kit i bought was pretty bad. Seams not lining up, sink marks. And other stuff.
  21. Here is the one i built. Luckily i have another one to redo the body. Done in testors purple lacquer.
  22. Some nice work in this thread. I may post a pic of mine. Was almost done had it in a box on shelf, one of the wifes cats slipped in to the basement and knocked it off. A few chips in the roof and thr frame ,interior, and body broke loose. But i did but another kit to build another.
  23. That is cool. Always wanted to build a boat. Throw in some fishing gear and cooler and hit the lake.
