  1. I hope this goes here, if not i am sorry. Way back in the mid to late 70s i built MPCs 34 slammer. Really liked the tires and motor with this kit. I left for the army in 81 so this sat in a box in moms attic for many years. I have maybe 10 to 15 from then. But i have been wanting to re do this kit for 20 years maybe more. Bit the bullet and bought one on sale at hobbylobby. Not even going to open it yet because i do not need another one started. It is a little tattered and one wheel is missing but it is probably in the box of old stuff. Maybe i can do better this time around.
  2. I built one way back in the late 70s and it was a good kit. Years later i bought one and i was like what the... Thought maybe it was just a freak accident bought another same BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. Bought a newer white kit but have not opened it. The 55 us my favorite of the tri 5s n i wish i could find a good kit.

Very nice looking. Good job on the roof too.
  4. Nice build. These kits are a mess. But you made it nice
  5. Nice looking build. Grabs the daily driver look.
  6. That is really good looking,. The engine detail is great looking
  7. Cool looking custom.
  8. Sounds cool.
  9. Looks good. For something that started out like a europen model a there are a million n 2 variations for VWs.
  10. I wish i could do that. That was molded in, but there are a couple of emblems on one of the trees.
  11. Thanks. That is the way i see it also.
  12. Did strip and re chrome the tail lights 3 times. Nice detail on the bezels but getting the color filled without messing up was a pain. Finally got it right enough for me. Had to enlarge the distributor location to get the air cleaner on. Still working on the engine. But one thing i would like comments on is the fuel line. It is probably a little small but i only had this wire and a larger size. The larger size makes it look too clunky for me. With the plug wires as a gage it is a tad small. Visually a plug wire and a fuel line are close to the same diameter so that is what i used for sizing. still touching everything up. But it is wired correctly. Thanks for looking.
  13. Sad shape of the world. Every time a scammer gets caught they should be beheaded live on TV. I avoid this BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH just by not answering my phone unless it is the wife, daughter, or some one i may want to speak to. I figure if it is important they will leave a message. I have never been one to talk on the phone anyway.
  14. Way cool. I have wanted some kits from the movie.
  15. The one we went to had 3 seperate shippers each with different sets. Hard to believe i was the 1st to pick. Reminded me of the good old days of hunting hot wheels.
  16. Not a red car guy(bad luck) but bith stangs look good. But 65 or 68 is my years. But the price i could like any of them.
  17. What about a light gray? Was white ever offered in a S.B.? It is your build do as you wish. But i picture a 25 year old in 69 with a S.B. and his buddies working on cars getting in and out of the S.B. would trash the white.
  18. Thanks. I will check to see what i have.
  19. Bunch of cool starts. I have plans for a up in smoke myself.
  20. I hardly ever go, but the wife likes to go. I may go back for the pick up.

  23. Nice looking color choice. Good luck.
