58 caddy creation still kickin around, limo
TNT replied to damodelguy phx az's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Cool. Looks like a futuristic car from a concept show from years ago. -
Nice build. Thanks for the pics i have been wondering about this kit.

Nice build. The 70s had some of the longest hoods. One my uncles had a long hood GP. I sat in that car and fell in love with anything with a long hood. It looked a mile long from the drivers seat.

Started this one years ago. Used ford code ember glo paint. Bought the 66 fairlane kit for the engine since it is better looking and has the proper air filter. Neither kit had the proper steering wheel so went looking for other ford kits in the dungeon. Then i remembered early mustangs had something of the right steering wheel. Found an old 65 stang 2+2 kit and there it was. May do a tire swap. I love the 7 litres mainly the 427, i think the 428 was a bit of a step back as they built it for cruising. But 1/2 way through 66 NASCAR helped ford with the 427 and made the side oiler( i believe). And why this car in this color? If i remember my history there was only 1 hardtop in ember glo with a manual trans. Plenty of convertibles. Also rumors say there was a 65 mustang in ember glo with a 7 litre from the factory. So with any luck i can stay on track with this one. Took the breather on the left from the 66 fairlane kit. And the motor. Steering wheel from the 65 mustang 2+2 and drilled out the holes. Kit tires on the right i may use the ones on the left, better looking tread.

Calling it done. Darn BMF adhesive dry up i reckon. Was able to get the front trim done the rest is paint. Clear coated the inside surface of the glass to give a foggy look, not much to see in there any way. Buffed n waxed the roof. Thanks for looking. Dupli color black. a few touches of spaz stix blue. Thought about making some smoke rolling out the rear.

Thanks for posting. I have bren wondering about this kit. I like the IH better than the bronco. When i was in the army way back in the 80s we used to get vehicles from the motor pool for picking up parts and taking equipment to DX. Usually we got a bread van but every now n then we got a IH flat bed. It was an odd beast as it was like a 1.5 ton or some odd GVW. It was 4WD and had a granny gear that would pull down a barracks. I was always late back to the shop when i got that truck. Had to test it out.
