  1. Tamiya never made 1/8 scale motorcycle kits.
  2. The Airfix is indeed the very same kit. And yes, it's the early type. The next one after would be the Heller, which also has a much nicer engine. So much nicer in fact, that I'm toying with the idea of kitbashing them.
  3. ^^ this. That's why I included it in my fake box art. Not only could early and late versions of the Wagoneers, Grand Wagoneers, two-door Cherokee Chiefs, and Pickups, be done with relatively little tooling effort, but also this legendary movie tie in: Even the people who think wars are nice but don't last long enough could be kept happy:
  4. I have mine in an unheated cellar for decades now - no adverse effect observable. I do keep them in the heated area of the house for a week before I start to work on them though.
  5. As others have mentioned, it is from the 1970s. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing. It's not without charm.
  6. I haven't bought any of them.
  7. How much???????
  8. "Limited Edition" is often a synonym for "doesn't sell well". Anyway, the kit follows the current trend to use a very big box for a few plastic pieces. The environment, you know. The model clearly depicts an early version (1955 - 1959), with the small 'nostrils', more rounded front fenders, and small rectangular taillights. The interior, molded in snot green: Note the roof liner: The remainder of the body panels is also molded in white: Why they chose a snot green for the oily bits and interior parts is beyond me. Although my camera is rubbish, the chrome pieces are very nicely done. So is the glass. The windows are ultra thin. The tires have sidewall detail. There is a bit of rubber hose included. The decals: Sadly, the format for the rear numberplates is wrong, so is the one for the Italian and Swiss front plates. Revell. Need I say more? And of course there is some paperwork real men ignore.
  9. First new arrival of the year for me.
  10. One could try to replicate one of the ones used in the 1955-58 Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition
  11. In "Diva" (Jean-Jacques Beineix, 1981), the main protagonist's nerdy friend works on an aeroplane kit, while many finshed model planes hang from the ceiling of his room.
  12. I mentioned in the OTP that it's the hatchback.
  13. Making that Isetta in 1/16 will cost them many sales.
  14. Happy New Year Everybody And thanks for nothing from a forgotten generation.
  15. My very finally last model car for 2015 arrived today.
  16. 1:3 Three were made by computer printing them. One was blown up in the film, one was kept by the company, who made them, one was sold at auction for over £100,000. Ironically, the real car that was used as a reference to computer print the models did not fare well. It looks like it's not too uncommon among DB5 owners to think their cars were made by Q.
  17. 1989 Gotham City. Lot's of Otaki/Doyusha/Revellogram 1/12 stuff.
  18. These models were used in Skyfall:
  19. In one of the Rockford's Files episodes, one of the baddies is working on an AMT '68 Mustang kit in his motel room.
  20. You can always order directly from Heller, or Oups, or Berlinetta Models. Maybe we should compile a link list of European online sources somewhere, for our friends west of Ireland? There are several, which are for European stuff, what HLJ or Hobbysearch are for Japanese.
  21. You mean, they charge Royal Mail fees, but send via Hermes.
