The main issue with the kit is that the A pillars and thus the windshield are slanted back too much, making the overall shape unrealistic. The pillars are also too thin. I don't know whether anyone has ever rectified it, however I haven't seen it done yet.

I did. What I didn't mention though, is that its proportions are hilariously wrong.

I'm not sure whether my AMT kit will forever stay in its box. It does a stellar job of capturing the car's overall shape and that A. counts more for me than having the minutest detail underneath represented B. is something the Tamiya kit has yet to prove itself. So far, we only have a few photos to go by, nobody has held it in his hands and glanced along its lines from every angle. Tamiya kits can tend to be a tad too good and thus oddly soulless.

I bet there will be oodles of aftermarket decals. Building Roger Clark's '72 RAC winner certainly appeals to me.

Supercharger kits were available by Bertin and Constantin. This is one of the latter: It is rumoured, that some police cars were so equipped.

Actually, the one-bolt system is a bit more complex than meets the eye. It pulls a conically shaped device into the split hexagonal hub, thus expanding the hub into the centre recess of the wheel. The wheel is hence jammed onto the hub. This system was developed together with Michelin, back then the major shareholder of Citroen S.A. The system was replaced by a conventional design to save production cost, and no other reason. At the same time, the wheels were changed from metric to 15" to allow a wider (pun intended) selection of tyres. That vanilla became available on production cars in 1958. Don't be afraid of colours, the DS was available in quite some -errr- progressive hues for its time.
