  1. I started the AMT 1957 Cameo 21 years ago, maybe it's time to finish it. Looking for some tips on sub assemblies before paint. - Engine compartment - if I mold in the inner fender extensions, can I get the interior in? - Truck box - Should this be two assemblies for painting, the inner box and the outer cameo sides/rear? If I assemble the entire box, can I get the tailgate on?
  2. I have purchased flocking from both of these sources http://www.craftflocking.com/ and http://www.flockit.com/index.php/
  3. Wayne, looks great. You had a '65 in that same color or I am thinking of another car?
  4. My cousin had a 1970 Chevy C10 pickup special ordered in plum crazy purple. There was also an old lady in Winnipeg that ordered a 1970 Olds Cutlass in plum crazy purple.
  5. I hope it is this one. I have been searching for a reasonably priced one for several years now. The Chevy II wagon would be nice as well.
  6. Thanks Doug. I just ordered a set along with the new Bronco set.
  7. Who makes resin kits based on the Revell '56 Chevy? I was searching a while back and could not find anything.
  8. Be careful buying the 100 pack X-Acto of blades off eBay from China. I did and received a box of 100 blades that were not sharpened. I also bought a set of X-Acto drill bits, they too where not sharpened.
  9. Just a note on the Magnums, I have them on my 1970 Chevelle and I also have a set of the Olds SSI wheels. Other than the Chevelle set being painted and the Olds set being chrome plated, they are identical.
  10. I researched this myself a while back. The SSII was the only option for 1968. However, there was a production problem for the SSII wheels early in production and even though you ordered the SSII wheels the SSI's were substituted at the factory or dealership. That is why you see a number of 1968 442's while SSI wheels even though they were not an option. The SSI were listed as an option for 1966, 1967 and 1969. If you like the SSI wheels, then go for it.
  11. I have been using Tamiya primers under Scale Finishes for years with no problems, ever. I use both the enamels and basecoats they offer. I sometimes order one of each, basecoat / clear coat for the body and the enamel for overspray on the chassis or an interior panel I want body color but don't want the extra layer of clear coat.
  12. Princess Auto sells the bits Ace mentions. You can also find the drill bits at Lee Valley.
  13. Nice. About 15 years ago when I worked on Broadway, I would always see an orange Murcielago, I wonder if it is the same car.
  14. I have ordered from them several times, awesome service. If there is a color Zero has, but not listed, just let them know and they will have it on their next order.
  15. Here is a US distributor. http://www.hobbyworld-usa.com/Store/index.php?id_product=6755&controller=product&search_query=1478&results=1
  16. Zero paint makes an Extra Fine Silver for candy groundcoat https://www.zero-paints.com/Extra_Fine_Metallic_SILVER_Groundcoat_for_Candy_Paints_60ml--product--348.html
  17. Looks like they are making some new parts for the '70 Camaro and doing a full bumper version. That should make a few people happy.
  18. He is, just not yet. I am waiting too for the Pontiac carbs.
  19. That was small block Mopar setup he announced, not Pontiac TriPower.
  20. Joseph made a new product announcement last night. https://www.facebook.com/fireballmodelworks/
  21. Not a complaint as the correct stripes are included on the decal sheet. Yes, they would be custom stripes for that year.
  22. The Revell Germany box art has 1970 -72 style SS stripes, while the Revell USA shows the correct 1968 stripes on the box art. 1968 SS stripes 1969 SS stripes 1970 -72 SS stripes
  23. Does it have the correct 1968 stripes, the box shows 1969 stripes?
  24. I think he may be refering to the Duplicolor Paint Shop clear. I bought a quart of the candy orange, the sample I sprayed 2 years ago is still tacky. The Perfect Match should be fine.
  25. Steve, Scale Finishes uses Dupont paints. Depending on your selection you can get either Acrylic Enamel or Basecoat. I use the basecoat on every paint job I do, I gave up on the Enamels since they take so long to dry. The basecoats are true basecoat/clearcoat and are not traditional lacquer that can be polished. They need a clearcoat, I use Zero 2k clear.
