Caboverdose
Jürgen M. replied to Rockford's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Well, work induces more work! Great idea with the tilting mechanism! I think the engine looks fine! If you know someone with a printer I could reduce my self designed ntc290 (at least it's similar to one) to 1/32 and send you the files! Just an offer! It's the one I put into my Pete 352 day cab! I know it's far from perfect but if it helps! The radiator is shaped flat to fit the grille. -

Amazing what you're making of this! But don't let Monogram see that, they'll put in even less details when they see what's possible! 😉 -

Or dark green and white/off white with a light green or iron metallic chassis! I think you've got enough ideas! 😊 -

Thanks Pal! I'm sure your choice of color will be great, no matter if it's green or anything else! -

I'm in too, Jeff! That Italeri Western Star is fun to build! I've got the Road Train version with right hand drive! Even building it out of the box was really nice! Great fit and nice details! And green sounds good! Fits that truck really well! I'm sure with the Changes you've planned it's gonna be another jewel! (Didn't mean to hijack your thread with that pic, Jeff but I wanted to support the suggestion of green!) -
Resto Rod Autocar
Jürgen M. replied to Gary Chastain's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That's the same way I feel, Gary when I start a build that's just according to my gusto and not following a box or a picture. Both are fun and have a special challenge but building after a picture in your mind lets you change directions any time without compromises! Keep going, it's coming along great and I believe I'm not the only one here anxious to see more of your fantasy flowing into it! 👍 -

R.O.G Peterbilt 359 Custom
Jürgen M. replied to BOZ's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow, we're in to a great build it seems! I'll be watching! Do they actually haul freight across the country with such lowered trucks? I thought they were just show trucks or are they levelable? -

Kenworth W923 logger

Looks terrific! Never seen a single axle log trailer before! Not that I've seen that many in North America but they all had twin or tri axle trailers! Looks really cool! -
Beautiful Ford! Great job!

Looks nice! Seeing that engine remembers me that I wanted to ask the truck pros here something: Did the old Macks actually sometimes have gold colored engines? I'm asking because I've seen it a couple of times already on Mack models and even before that I painted the engine of my "Love Machine" Cruiserliner that way. Got a real sh..storm on that in a German modelling forum! They said it looks crazy and weird and that color doesn't belong on a truck engine! Just curious if it's an authentic Mack thing or if I'm just not the only one who thinks it looks cool! Sorry for this long post in your thread but I just had to ask!

Nice progress! Looks really good! 👍 -
That's the way I do it too. I use Fusion360 for designing and virtual mock-ups. I just create a new file with the central item, like a chassis, then I transfer all the parts I need into that file and put them together! Here's an example! It's my recently built tanker trailer: VID_20241114_175233~2.mp4 I did change a few details but it's more or less the way I built it. Was ist OK to post this here? Didn't want to hijack. I understood this thread as the one to post items to 3D printing! If I was wrong, I appologize!

Since I posted this one in "WIP" I might as well complete this thread with a last pic of the new bumper! I am, by the way, aware of the fact that not all details are authentic for a tanker truck such as the high stacks for example. Still I will leave it that way cause that's the way I imagined it before I started! Thanks all again for following and for your great feedback. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🧑🎄
