I am building a Polar Lights 65 Coronet and trying to apply the Pegasus wsw vinyl transfers to the tires but having kind of a hard time. I am at the office so I cannot post pictures but I know what you are supposed to do with the contact paper on top of the decals and pressing down on the tire. I leave the vinyl wsw transfer on for a few minutes but once I start pulling the top paper off the wsw it comes off the tire also. If I just try to apply them without the contact paper I cannot for the life of me get them centered or where they look even around the tire. So asking here for some help on maybe a better method. I have applied water style wsw or redline decals over the years and never really had an issue with them looking correct. I hope this makes sense. Anyhow thanks in advance for the advice.

Very interesting. thanks

I know can we have just white! Maybe wsw tires too. I am building a Polar Lights now with the vinyl wsw transfers from Pegasus and they are a tad fiddly to work with. I could use a video on a how to! LOL.

I wonder if it will be offered in new colors. The baby blue actually looks good.

Probably the same as the Polar Lights kit but I like the box. I actually like a real box that you keep things in.

I have to say this is one of the most detailed builds I have seen in quite awhile. The underhood is amazing. The carbs! Wow I love the build.

So the car was pink. Love it.

Wow it is a small world. My dad's second the 54 which is virtually identical to the 53 except for the grill was an all black original car with 7000 miles on it. A gentleman I knew found it and we put a deal together for it. Unfortunately my father started to get dementia a few years after getting the 54. I sold the car and my dad has since passed but I will always have a soft spot for those 53's and 54's.

Well I am a Mopar guy and my dad worked for Studebaker back in the fifties, so my knowledge is a tad limited. The first one he had was a V8 so it was a Commander. The black 54 I found for him was a six so I think they called them Champions. The two hatches on the front fenders behind the wheel well was to open up to let fresh air in. I am pretty sure but I may be mistaken.

Nice. Excited to see this project progress. My dad had a 53 he bought new and then back around 2000 had a 54. Good cars.

Those are impressive builds. What a fun idea to do with our hobby. I just saw these...

Beautiful build. So what color was that? It almost looks like a pink like a Mopar Panther Pink.

Cool

Looks very nice. I love the white.

Nice job. I realized I never see these in real life where I am. I see plenty of 69's but hardly ever a 65. Great job.

The second picture is my grandson doing a photo shoot of my 1:1 for a high school project last fall. I think it was called something like histories. So we shot the car with an old building in our local town in the background.

Wow looks good. Did this kit have the Wheelhorse tractor with it? I know the Bobby Unser kit did but thought maybe this one did also. Anyhow looks great.

So I have decided to build a kit of my red 1:1 65 Coronet 500 with a red P/L kit. I had a white metallic in my stash that I am building without any detail or much detail anyhow to practice. I know these kits can be a little rough so this is my practice run. I will detail out the red kit. I bought one off of Ebay and I think the color is not far off from my bright red 1:1 Coronet so I would like to just polish and foil if I can. I will obviously paint the interior and engine etc on the red kit. This is kinda fun though building a kit basically straight from the box. I couldn't resist painting the exhaust and I am using wsw decal/vinyl stickers for the tires. Try to ignore the place mat the car is on.... Btw as I posted in another section has anyone had luck doing up a better headlight for this grill? That I think is a real weak point in the kit. I kinda wanted to try to do something with the headlights but not sure what. Thanks

That does seem like it would be a pretty big project. Yours looks very accurate.

I do like the Dick Landy car. Great job.

First Look - Round 2's updated AMT 1963 Impala SS

Thanks Tim -
I started on a white metallic version of the Coronet last night. I am going to build this pretty much straight out of the box. I am practicing so I can build a red replica of my 1:1 car but fully detail etc. I actually like the lines and the car is a good looking car and compares in most areas pretty well with my 1:1 car. I hate the grill I have to say. I probably won't do much to this practice build but anyone have success in using the original AMT grill on the P/L car or drilling out the headlights and making the Polar Lights grill look more realistic? Thanks everyone.

That is beautiful.

Beautiful Roadrunner. I own a 1965 Coronet that was bought new by Buddy back in the day.

Well done on the build. Interesting story on the fuel. Thanks
