1982 GMC Sierra C1500
NitroMarty replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Your patina is spot on... With it's lowered stance and wheel/tire combo that looks like it would be one fun truck in real life. π -
I started with the Revell Foose 56 F100, built mostly box stock... Changes include tweaking the stance just a bit, modifying the kit wheels to accept those large diameter Arrowhead Specialties Astro-Vette Moon style aluminum disc wheel covers. Other additions were the tonneau cover from AMT's '53 F100 kit (shortened 1/8"), and stock style taillights and stock rear bumper from Revell's old tool '56 F100. Paints used are all Tamiya.... Chrome Yellow, Racing White, and Semigloss Black.... Decals are from Mr. Model. Under hood changes were limited to a MAD pre-wired distributor and Altered States Cadillac air cleaner... Any good shop truck needs to earn it's keep, so this one is being put to work as tow vehicle for a little land speed streamliner... The mini streamliner is a resin copy of the one originally found in AMT's '63 F100 annual kit. It was cast solid, so the cockpit had to be ground out so it could be fitted with a small seat and steering wheel/dash from the parts stash. Exhaust trumpets are actually short injector tubes from Parts By Parks. Decals are, again, from Mr. Model as well as some markings that I drew up on my computer. The trailer comes from a Revell Midget Racer kit and was modified with wider ramps and MOON aluminum disc wheel covers from Scale Repros.

Another great trade to report @the60falcon.... Thanks for a great trade, even if USPS took it's sweet time getting it to me, giving the package a tour of 1/4 of the country along the way! π

I just type the at symbol @, followed by the first couple of letters in the members name. A drop down typically appears with names starting with those letters. I then click on the appropriate name and the link automatically loads. For example, @mcs1056.... Hope this helps.

PM sent Seriously diggin' the LUV. Can't tell from the pics... Does it have a grille? Anyway, I'll take a dive into my parts stash and see what I can scare up. (Pretty sure I have several sets of flipper caps Fiesta, Lancer, etc.)

A big shout out to @LOBBS.... Thanks for a great trade and your patience while I sorted through my health issue.

I am diggin' on this thing so frickin hard!!!!!π I have looooooong wanted to build model of the original High & Mighty, but never seem to actually get around to it. (With too many ideas of my own, I suck at building replicas) Your build here has got me thinking maybe it would be cool to throw a H&M inspired 51 Chevy into the mix π

Wow.... The can in the picture is a big flashback for me. As a young kid I lived with my parents in an old turn of the century farm house, that relied on a trio of fuel oil burning stoves for heat in the winter. I remember going with Dad to the gas station to fill cans that looked exactly like that one every Friday.

Love a quality dark chocolate! Also chewy caramels.... Hard candies I like butterscotch. Some of all time my favorite candies, were the homemade holiday treats the my mother used to make... Butter toffee, fudge, peanut brittle, almond chocolate dipped cherries. Good stuff!!!! When I was a kid, I used to love the swedish made strawberry Broadway liquorice rolls until suddenly you could no longer get them, due to the dye used in them. I recently found a vendor selling a modern version online.... Unfortunately, they new stuff doesn't taste anywhere close to the original.

A few weeks ago I got bored with sitting around waiting for my cataract surgeries to happen, so I went ahead and finished up this simple little project.... I based this project on a somewhat obscure and underappreciated Pyro kit. Body modifications were limited to radiusing the rear wheel openings. Hood scoop was sourced from a Johan Superbird kit. Wheels and tires came from a stash of old Monogram 1/32 Boss Willys and Hemi Fiat kits. I bashed together a gasser front axle using aluminum tubing and a spring and radius rods cut from a Hemi Fiat junker axle and fine wire for the tie rod.... For the rear I made ladder bars from small Plastistruct girder and a set of shackles from some scraps of Evergreen I beam. The rear weight bar was formed using aluminum tubing, small nails and fine wire. The body was finished using Tamiya Metallic Red and Gloss Clear rattle cans. Decals are Slixx 1/64 items. Admittedly not my best work, but I just really was itching to finish something.

Great trading on my end as well.... Thanks a ton John!!!!

Only the two S10 4x4s, Black Taurus, and Falcon remain..... One kit (it doesn't necessarily have to be one from my want list) will get all four.
