  1. Diecast is cool, but honestly I've just gotten to the point where I'd much rather display stuff that I actually built.... 1/24 scale John Force Superman and Elvis funny cars. Thought that I remembered these as being Action, but the chassis are simplified and are stamped Hasbro. No boxes. 1/18 scale Ertl Muscle Machines Summit Racing 1969 Camaro. Roof is signed by the driver, but I received this as a gift years ago and no longer remember who that was. LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚ Action 1/9 scale Vance & Hines Harley Davidson drag bike with separate detachable wheelie bars. No Box Looking to trade for drag car and hot rod kits or resins... Or pretty much anything in the way of 60's and 70's American cars... What do you have cool to trade?
  2. With the hassle of the holidays finally behind us, I was actually able to get a few minutes of bench time today... Have the chassis about 95% squared away, with front suspension in place and the differential from the Garlits' Wynn's Jammer adapted to to fit... Pretty much just need to wrap up the steering equipment. The Dodge Hemi from the Garlits' kit is also just about wrapped up as well.... Once the chassis and drivetrain are out of the way, it will be time to get the body ready for paint... And then a long wait for warmer temps, so I can start painting in the parking lot again. ๐Ÿ˜ EDIT: I have since fixed the front plug wire!
  3. All great builds, but the Porsche is incredible!
  4. I can't stop looking at this build. It's a wagon. It's an AMC product. It's just plain cool.... It really just presses all the right buttons for me.
  5. Thanks!!! Wait 'til you see some of the stuff that I have dreamt up for future builds. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. Thank you all.
  7. I admit that my automotive interests could be considered a bit eclectic... Still there are quite a few building styles that I want to try my hand at but have not yet gotten around to.
  8. My answer is a bit skewed, as I bought a couple hundred vintage kits and built-ups from the estate of a friend who passed away this past spring. Otherwise the answer would be fewer than ten kits...
  9. Seriously diggin' the '67 Mustang Fastback and the California Special!
  10. Only three builds completed for the year... But that's more than any of the past several years. Pro Touring '77 Chevette 1930 Model A Vicky Gasser 1957 Thunderbird Early 60's Style Custom Hoping to accomplish at least the same, if not more, in the coming year.
  11. Back in the day, I had a couple of Fenders, a Gibson, and an Ovation.... Liked the Fender Strat the best. The best guitar I've ever played was a one-off custom built that a buddy of mine had, that was made by his father... Such a unique sound!
  12. I am somewhat interested in the Oldsmobile Cutlass parts and the El Camino. What are you looking for in the way of trades?
  13. Lovin' this project!!! I have been fascinated with the Ramchargers, including the High n Mighty, for nearly 60 years!!! As far as the tinted glass is concerned, go for it (just not for the windshield). As someone who grew up at the track (Cordova Dragway was literally right in my backyard) I can tell you that tinted plexiglass windows were pretty much standard equipment on many drag cars until the early 1970s... Though plexiglass is no longer legal, tinted side and rear windows are still common on today's nostalgia gassers. Just my 2ยข.
  14. Just concluded a great trade with Steamboat... Thanks!!!
  15. Looking for Drag City Casting's discontinued chopped '37 Chevy Coupe. There's got be somebody out there who ordered one of these and then lost interest, or ran out of time... I have some vintage build-ups, kits, and even some resin to trade.
  16. Nicely done.... These big old boats don't get enough love in my opinion. I owned a real '78 Thunderbird for a very short time in 1980.... Really nice driving car! I spotted it sitting a little used car lot one Saturday morning. Took it for a test drive and returned to buy it later that afternoon. My aunt fell in love with it when I stopped by to show it to my cousin the next day and offered me $1500 over what I had just paid for it.... Needless to say, by the following weekend it was hers.
  17. Truly a bizarre Street Freak..... I'm loving it!!!
  18. Hey Tim.... I'm sure you remember my '57 T-bird gasser from a few years ago.... Sadly, I sold this last year after it got broken in a fall from a shelf.... I regret getting rid of it now though. ๐Ÿซค
  19. I finally got a close look at one of those the other day, in the local Wally parking lot, and tried to figure out if there was anything that could be done to make it cool...... My conclusion.... No... Just NO!!!!
  20. With the Thunderbird show custom finally done and out of the way, it's time to get down to business on this one... Got the chassis somewhat squared away and have started assembling a Hemi to take the place of the Plymouth wedge in the original kit. Sure hope this works out!
  21. This is an awesome idea.... Can't believe that I never thought of it!!!! ๐Ÿ˜œ
  22. Truth of the matter is that I'm just tired of messing with this, so I'm putting it on the shelf and calling it done(ish)... I tried posting a full description, but for some reason the board won't let me For better or worse, I present my early 60's style 1957 Thunderbird Show Custom....
  23. The 65 Thunderbird annual kit was updated for the 66 kit, so no, it's not likely that you will ever see it backdated to a 65 again.
  24. Awesome trading with Rattle Can Man... One of the good guys for sure!!!
