In need of front wheel/tire assembly for Monogram Hemi Fiat....
NitroMarty replied to NitroMarty's topic in Wanted!
The altereds are indeed Monogram.... Are you sure that the tires are rubber(ish)? I don't believe that those kits ever came with soft tires and separate wheels, so that would be a new one on me. Pretty sure the Triumph Roadster is an old Aurora kit... The had some very nice 1/32 scale stuff back in the day. -
In need of front wheel/tire assembly for Monogram Hemi Fiat....

Have been gathering bits for this old 1/32 scale kit for years. Have pretty much enough stuff to (re)build a one.... Just need one more front wheel/tire assembly. It is a two piece (front and back halves) hard plastic assembly.... The same pieces can also found in the Monogram Boss Willys. Even better.... Would not mind finding unbuilt examples of all three kits (Boss Willys, Hemi Fiat, and Ford Screamer) from this 1/32 scale series, but that's a pretty big long shot. -
Just finished a trade with FordF-100. Awesome guy to deal with... Thanks!!!

I can help you out... PM me your address. Do you need anything else from the engine? I have tons of those kits... One of my favorite parts sources.

Another brief update.... Finished piecing together an injected Y-block to go under the hood. Just the old kit engine from way back when.... Injectors and valve covers are some 3D printed stuff that I ordered a few years ago.... Don't recall who made them. Need to finish painting a few engine compartment details and touch up a couple of spots on the chrome exhaust manifold, but I'm quite happy with the overall appearance.

Recently scored the remnants of several several early AMT Valiants. All are missing grilles, bumpers, head & taillights. Could really use the grilles and bumpers for a couple of 61 or 62 Valiants (or resin copies). Could also use a window unit if anybody has one. Thanks

A friend of mine has been getting custom decals made by STS. They have been doing really nice work for him.

PM headed your way.... Quite interested in the Warlord funny car (what condition/ how complete?) Capri, and possibly the Citation. Also, what's the story on the BMW on top of the stack?

1/25 or 1/16? What kinda stuff are you interested in?

Was quite surprised to find this at my local Farm & Fleet store. Ford trucks 42-47, sometimes referred to as jailbar Fords because of the vertical bar design of their grilles, have been mostly ignored in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. ( I recall one of the "mints" doing one, but even then they were a bit hard to find and a pricier than l like to pay for something I plan to chop up.) This one is a Motor Max piece and was priced at $13 on sale. It's boxed as a 42- 47, but the larger Ford script on the hood sides makes it a 46/47. (42/45 had smaller separate diecast scripts.)

What Did You Have for Dinner?
NitroMarty replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Made a big pot of chili this morning, left it to simmer all day. By mid-afternoon the whole apartment smelled like heaven. Whipped up a double pan of cornbread at supper time. Topped the chili with chopped onions and shredded cheddar and chowed down... Can hardly wait for the next day leftovers tomorrow.... Chili is always better the next day! ? -
My wife and I baked a big batch of snickerdoodle cookies yesterday morning. The wife decided to be nice and took a plate of them to our upstairs neighbor. This morning the neighbor reciprocated by stopping by with a freshly baked carmel apple pie... These wonderful ladies are playing hell on my blood sugar, but what a way to go!!!!

Driving home on the busy main drag through town (4 lane, though six with turn lanes where this occurred), after picking up a prescription at the drugstore this morning. Just as I entered an intersection, some tool on a bicycle blows through a red light from my right... Had to slam the brakes (as did drivers in the incoming lanes). I laid on the horn and the d-bag turns and flips me off. Keep in mind, this was no kid thinking they're invincible... This is a grown man, wearing all the d-bag bicyclist gear. Upside down, backward plastic bedpan helmet, spandex pants, goggles, etc..... No wonder drivers have no respect for them. (The kicker is that there is a bike path that goes under the road, less than 20 yards north of this particular intersection)

Any “diet” pop (soda) worth trying out there?
NitroMarty replied to Monty's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Really like Diet Pepsi... Has a nice crisp bite to it. Diet Coke on the other hand is simply undrinkable. (Can barely stand regular Coke.... Just as well drink syrup straight from the bottle?) -
In my opinion you kinda missed the point of both memes, Brian. We weren't working on our cars because they were "breaking down".... We worked on our cars to make them cooler and faster and a lot more fun to drive...There are still young guys (and girls) doing that, today... It's just not as common and they're doing on the cars that they like. And even if you don't ever need to change a tire, everyone should know how to.... Hell, it was a requirement when I took drivers ed.

Dug out this old snap shot of a cat that my wife brought home shortly after we got married.... Very sweet boy named Pepper. He loved to get between the wife and I whenever we were snuggling on the couch. The day I shot this photo, I had gotten up to grab myself a beer, and when I came back he had made himself very comfortable next to my wife.... I hadn't opened the beer yet, so I set it next to him, figuring that the cold bottle would annoy him and he'd get up and leave.... Instead, he wrapped his paws around it, with a most content look on his face. So cute that I just had to grab my camera and take a picture. ?

Great trading with you too... Enjoy the kits!

I have my own play lists that I put together for different moods.... The one that is probably my favorite is a compilation of 80's hair metal... But not the stuff that saw a lot of radio play. I prefer the deep cuts. I also have a country rock / southern rock play list that is put together the same way... Also 80's new wave. I even like to play movie soundtracks.

Actor James Earl Jones passes away at 93.
NitroMarty replied to John M.'s topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
His monologue about baseball, in Field of Dreams, is one of the most moving speeches ever filmed.... And I don't even like the game. I simply cannot imagine feeling that way if any other actor had delivered it,
