  1. Driving home on the busy main drag through town (4 lane, though six with turn lanes where this occurred), after picking up a prescription at the drugstore this morning. Just as I entered an intersection, some tool on a bicycle blows through a red light from my right... Had to slam the brakes (as did drivers in the incoming lanes). I laid on the horn and the d-bag turns and flips me off. Keep in mind, this was no kid thinking they're invincible... This is a grown man, wearing all the d-bag bicyclist gear. Upside down, backward plastic bedpan helmet, spandex pants, goggles, etc..... No wonder drivers have no respect for them. (The kicker is that there is a bike path that goes under the road, less than 20 yards north of this particular intersection)
  2. You might have to wait for the Spring Kemps meet to see it "finished"?
  3. Really like Diet Pepsi... Has a nice crisp bite to it. Diet Coke on the other hand is simply undrinkable. (Can barely stand regular Coke.... Just as well drink syrup straight from the bottle?)
  4. In my opinion you kinda missed the point of both memes, Brian. We weren't working on our cars because they were "breaking down".... We worked on our cars to make them cooler and faster and a lot more fun to drive...There are still young guys (and girls) doing that, today... It's just not as common and they're doing on the cars that they like. And even if you don't ever need to change a tire, everyone should know how to.... Hell, it was a requirement when I took drivers ed.
  5. Dug out this old snap shot of a cat that my wife brought home shortly after we got married.... Very sweet boy named Pepper. He loved to get between the wife and I whenever we were snuggling on the couch. The day I shot this photo, I had gotten up to grab myself a beer, and when I came back he had made himself very comfortable next to my wife.... I hadn't opened the beer yet, so I set it next to him, figuring that the cold bottle would annoy him and he'd get up and leave.... Instead, he wrapped his paws around it, with a most content look on his face. So cute that I just had to grab my camera and take a picture. ?
  6. Great trading with you too... Enjoy the kits!
  7. I have my own play lists that I put together for different moods.... The one that is probably my favorite is a compilation of 80's hair metal... But not the stuff that saw a lot of radio play. I prefer the deep cuts. I also have a country rock / southern rock play list that is put together the same way... Also 80's new wave. I even like to play movie soundtracks.
  8. His monologue about baseball, in Field of Dreams, is one of the most moving speeches ever filmed.... And I don't even like the game. I simply cannot imagine feeling that way if any other actor had delivered it,
  9. Oooookay.... I hadn't heard that one. Whoever came up with that has obviously never seen it steam by in person.?
  10. If it is scheduled to be in your area, I highly recommend going to see it pass by... It's an awesome machine.
  11. Lose the mayo and that sounds awesome!!!
  12. Great project!!! I have contemplated building a model of that car many times, but never got around to it. Love that you are using the Miss Deal chassis.... I have used that kit as the base for the chassis on a half dozen of my s/fx and gasser builds through the years and have a couple more under projects that are in the works.
  13. Over the years I have managed to gather a few assorted bits to piece together a Revell Dodge Revellion '62 Dart "funny car"... Of course I've actually never gotten around to putting those bits to use and built a Revellion, but recently got the idea to, instead, to build it up as a stable mate to a '62 Dart Gasser that I built around 15 years ago, that I named Penniless....... Below are the kits that will supply the main components for the project.... The Tony Nancy dragster will provide a fresh chassis and suspension bits, while the Garlits' car will lend a Dodge Hemi, to replace the Plymouth wedge found in the Nancy kit.... Grille is an AMT Parts Pack item (I never like the gaping hole left by the omitting of the grille in the original Revellion kit) Finish, of course, is going to mimic the original Penniless Gasser.... Wish me luck. ?
  14. Very cool.... Love seeing this overlooked kit getting a bit of love. I built a modified version of the companion Formula Firebird kit, for a snap kit build-off, over on the Spotlight message board, several years ago.....
  15. Had a slow lazy Labor Day, so I took the opportunity to dig out the portal airbrush, go out to the parking lot, and start laying down a fog/fade job.... It didn't turn out as well as I'd like, but I'm gonna leave it be for now. Next, it's time to lay down some clear and finish up the engine and interior.
  16. I had one of those Premier Volvo kits stolen from my table at a swap meet a few years ago.... Couldn't believe that someone would steal such a bad kit.
  17. Personally I much prefer the modern wheels on the original mock-up. In my opinion they better suit the modern custom vibe of the car.
  18. What might you be looking for in trade?
  19. Got a set of bumpers.... Still need a hood.
  20. I would take a hard pass on any build of that vintage, that has been painted gold, unless I can check it out in person first. My experience has been that many must have been painted with some sort of hot hardware store gold paint that damaged and winkled the plastic. No, it's not always the case, but I have been burned enough times to be extremely wary.
  21. Digging the use of the DeSoto grille/bumper
  22. Yeah, my time at the bench, especially during the warm weather months, is limited to a few minutes here and a few minutes there.
  23. Still hoping for help with this. The Atomic City thing didn't pan out.
  24. You've got some really cool squirrels, Terry.... You need to quit teasing me with that red Charger and finish it though! ?
