One portable airbrush system on the way..... Supposed to be delivered by the weekend! Hopefully the compressor will be enough to push my Grex T5... If not, I also have an ancient paasche that was Dad's.

Thanks, Gerry.... A suggestion that actually helps!? I am going to check into these options.
-
Extremely convincing finish!

Very nice!!!! ? The Alclad chrome is a big improvement over the kit chrome.

Again, I cannot spray inside the apartment. It's part of the lease. So no, airbrush and paint booth are not options that will work at this time.

Scored this at a yard sale yesterday. Unfortunately missing the chrome tree and hood.... Need a hood and the bumpers. Don't care about wheel covers or engine chrome... Don't really care if the plating is bad. That's what Revell Chrom spray is for. Thanks for looking!

That is the route I would go if I were able to use my airbrush. Unfortunately, I am now an apartment dweller, and cannot do any painting inside the building.... All paint work must be done in the parking lot, using rattle cans. As for the Testors paints, I only had problems with a few cans ever leaking.... As a matter of fact, I still have cans... Phoenician Yellow, Wimbledon White, Big Bad Blue, and Plum Crazy, none of which show signs of leaking.... Guess I just got lucky.... Of course none are the color I'm wanting.

Help! I am in need of a can of Testors discontinued Turbine Bronze Lacquer. Had several cans that I unfortunately had to leave behind when we moved back in 2022. Now I'm wanting to build a stable mate to the "Penniless" Dart that I built back in 2009, and,of course, there is none to be found!☹️

Very cool project.... I looked, but could not find if you said who printed that very cool dropped front suspension. Would like to use something like that on the Best Models Hebmüller trans-kit that has been staring me in the face for several years.

Such a stunning build.... I have been eyeballing the unbuilt example in my stash, ever since a very nice modified one showed up at a 1:1 car show that I was at a few weeks from. Now your build may just push me over the edge!!!

So much to love about this build..... The inline six is the absolute icing on the cake!!!

I finally broke down and subscribed about a month ago... No sign of my copy yet. Can anyone please offer an ETA?

A couple of years ago, I finally got around to building the one that had been lingering in my stash since the late 1980's..... Don't think I ever shared pics of it here. I was never happy with how the fade turned out, so I wound up giving it to my good friend, Frank, who thought it was too cool to just toss back in the box.
-
Very nice!!!! Could you please tell us more about the source of those decals?
-
Frankie does do outstanding work... And, don't tell him I said this, but a nicer guy you will never meet. ?
-
I just learned that Bruce Sadewater, the man behind SMP Decals, has passed away earlier today. I have no further information, but I would assume that, if at all possible, any outstanding orders will be refunded at some point in the future.

Very cool.... This is exactly the type of build that I enjoy... Using a kit as a starting point to build into what you want and ending up with something truly unique!!!

Outstanding build!!!! I have recently become somewhat infatuated with the widebody look and have ordered a couple of 3D printed body kits for a Mustang and a Camaro.... Seeing your truck, I think I'll now be ordering another! ? -

Cheese and crackers, this thing is cool!!!!! I found this thread while looking for ideas for a future OBS build.... You have GOT to dig this project out and finish it!!!! -
It's gonna be cool, Craig... Looking forward to seeing the finished product at the fall Kemps' meet in October!

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)

My wife has been buying little do-dads for her crafts on the Temu app lately. She surprised me a few days ago with a handy little photo booth that she bought for me through the app.... It's a small photo booth, only measuring 9" x 9.5" x 8.5"... In addition to white, it came with several colors of background sheets s... Lighting comes from a strip of small but bright LEDs... Power comes from a USB cord (It seems a bit short, but works fine when plugged into the multi port USB charger that sits on my workbench... A free gift from AARP. LOL) So how does it work??? Pretty good in my humble opinion.... By the way my wife tells my that she paid less than $4 for this. -
Actually irked me yesterday, but my wife and I had a VERY close call yesterday while driving. I had just entered traffic on a four lane divided highway (65 mph speed limit) from a side road. I was in the right lane gaining speed and had just reached the speed limit, when a group of 5 or 6 cars approach from behind at a higher rate of speed. A couple of the cars from the left lane began to overtake us, when the first vehicle (a silver gray SUV) got just past my driver's side door, the driver suddenly cut over into my lane. Fortunately I was as paying enough attention that I was able to avoid a collision with them. However, between the hard braking and jerking the wheel to the right I broke traction and began to fishtail and slide wildly, actually spinning and coming to a stop on the shoulder facing the wrong the wrong way... Somehow, by the grace of God, everyone else was paying attention and we all got stopped without anyone getting gathered up in what could have been a very bad multi car crash. Several of those other drivers got out to check that we were okay. One gentleman even had called in the incident to the police, with the liescense number of the vehicle that cut me off (they just kept going without stopping) Fortunately the only damage to our car was a blown out left rear tire.... Another stroke of good luck was that, just as I was getting the jack and spare tire out of the trunk, an off duty county sheriff's deputy pulled up and changed the tire for me.
