  1. Thank you everyone. There are a lot of kits I remember building as a kid that are being reissued now. But only an opportunity to build a Badman was on my must do list. Obviously a lot of us have a soft spot for it. As soon as I realized the current 2 n 1 kit was a Badman in disguise I knew I had to build it. Glad I could help bring some happy memories.
  2. Glad the build brought back a good memory. The decals are Powerslide #404. I got them from Mikes Decals.
  3. Very cool, looks great.
  4. Like many modelers I fondly remember kits I built in my youth. And one of the kits I really wanted to do again was the Badman. I built a few of these as a kid and they were one of my all-time favorites. I used the new Monogram 2 n 1 55 Chevy kit to create this. The kit has its shortcomings, but I ignored that and just built a fun tribute to a good memory. I stayed true to the original box art, sort of. When I built this the reissues all had clear glass so I went with that but replicated the original artwork for decals(which means I added the STP to the chin spoiler). I also had to add the Monogram racing to the trunk just because I thought it was cool. I tried using BMF for the first time on this kit and had mixed results. But overall, I’m happy with the end product and think it’s going to look good sitting on the shelf. Three feet away removes a lot of sins.
  5. That is very cool. Looks like a lot of fun to build.
  6. Very nice. Love the color choices.
  7. Looks great. I have two “Museum Pieces” in my stash I am looking forward to.
  8. Looks good. Brings back memories my family had one very similar in appearance.
  9. Looks nice. I have always liked those. They are a rare sight around here. But did see one last week.
  10. I love your choice of subject. Looks good nice job.
  11. That came out very nice. Looks good.
  12. Thanks. It did. I have it sitting in the corner. Every time I go into my shop I look at it and debate its future. In the beginning I thought it was destined for the garbage but now my disdain for it is decreasing so it may get a redo.
  13. Thank you for all the kind words. The kit was mostly a good time. The rear taillights and fin caused me some issues. By the time it was all done I was happy to be finished. I went into this one hoping for it to be a quick build but then it dragged on longer than expected.
  14. This was a lot of fun when doing the chassis and interior. The body work fought me a little and I was ready for this one to be done.
  15. I have one and really like it. Here is some detailed info on it, plus a lot of handy paint tools. https://modelpaintsol.com/model-paint/ak-interactive-paint-purification-cups
  16. I just started this kit. Right hand drive only.
  17. Tragedy! Turns out I did not have as a secure mounting as I thought. I heard a crash and went exploring. Found her on the ground.
  18. You are so right. When you’re not enjoying it and trying to force it, so you can just be done with it. It is obvious that you are not giving the project the attention it deserves. For Christmas I received a new model for a gift plus I have just bought a new spray booth. I have been looking forward to playing with my new booth and making the new model. I feel compelled to make a gift quickly otherwise it gets put on the shelf and forgotten about with the rest of the stash. When somebody gives you something they like to see it put to use. I like to prioritize those builds and then send a picture to show I appreciated the gift. At least for me it seems the right thing to do. Thanks for all your feedback along the way with this project.
  19. I just got a new spray booth. This is my first down draft model. So far it is great! I was just playing around a little with it today and it sucked all the fumes away. Can’t ask for more than that. It is an Artograph 1530.
  20. Difficult decision has been reached. I am going to call the boat done for now. Technically it is complete. I just would like to get some detail painting done. But I am growing frustrated with it and trying to rush wrapping it up because it is in the way of other projects I want to work on. So instead of pushing through with a less than sunny disposition I am going to stop and revisit the final painting when I actually want to work on it again instead of feeling obligated to. For now it is hanging on the wall in my workshop.
