The challenge will be the crappy plastic from the 3D printed wrecker body,,the booms and mast are grainy too but I'm not as concerned as much with them,,the booms are the older style Holmes tube with angle iron reinforcement . I drove my Dad's Holmes 600/IH Fleetstar 2010 on calls back in the late 70's early 80's when we had the truck shop in South Plainfield

I've been working on this one on and off for awhile (that's why my bench is always trashed,,lol) . Started with AMT's Autocar dump ,stretched the frame and went single axle ,using the rear springs and rear from AMT White Freightliner SD/DD kit . I found the Holmes 750 on Shapeways ,,not too bad EXCEPT with the plastic used "versatile white plastic" ,, has a texture grainy surface and does not sand well at all (I gave up waiting for AMT to make a 1/25th scale version of their 1/43 scale Holmes decades ago ! ) . I assembled/painted most of the chassis and cab already leaving off the fenders and trim bits so I wouldn't break any off ,,the decals are custom by Bedlam Creations. I laid Plastruct diamond plate sheet in the bed and top of the body front ,,my struggle now is with the textured plastic side,,, I shot it with spray Mr Surfacer 500 1st and now applying skim coats of Mr Surfacer 500 out of the bottle , which might work ,,,on my 2nd coat today waiting for it to dry . The hoses on the cab are for the A/C unit .

Hey Walter! We met at Etown wayyy back hope all is well with you .I used to take my R/T to the track all the time .never missed Mopars At Etown ,used to run the car on the 1/8th mile ,,here's a pic of you with the Green Hornet 65 Plymouth and my Coronet R/T -
Thanks Bob ,,never thought I'd still have these models 30 odd years later!

And another 30 year old build , I used the AMT 71 Duster and if I recall a Ross Gibson Hemi with a Rat Roaster intake ,,some things I didn't do but should have was paint the engine Ford blue and a more correct engine (Tunnel Ram,,,D5 dual plug heads etc. ) Not as much reference material back then as there is now like Jim Schilds Sox & Martin book and books by Geoff Stunkard and others.

Another 30 or so year old build,Jimmy Addison's Silver Bullet GTX tribute sort of...... I didn't flare out the quarters though
-
Great job! I did one years ago but I didn't flare out the rear quarters .I always wanted to do a diorama of either at Spehar's/Addisons Sunoco station ,or at a traffic light on Woodward Ave.

You could experiment and de-can the Rustoleum and try airbrushing it ,,but I think the pigments in the Rustoleum are too heavy -
SSB resin KME

MCW is my go to paint for lacquer and enamels for airbrushing ,,, as far as rattle cans you can't beat Tamiya ,,leave the Rustoleum for the lawn furniture ? -
Welcome aboard!

Did this one about a year ago while on disability for back surgery, The Tomato Can '64 . The body is resin from MCW ,used a Lindberg chassis ,,the body was all wonky but it came out decent considering. I met Jerry a few times at Englishtown when he was running,,,I included a few pics ,thats me in front of the car in the denim shirt , my son was taking the pictures

Did this one about 30 years ago , pretty sure the decals are Fred Cady's ,, I must of bought about a dozen Revell '67 GTX's back then

I just looked,,nice job! I may do one myself
