  1. Wow, that came out great!! Stunning build!! That Honda is pretty cool, too!
  2. Too bad Herbie didn't sell better...maybe there'd be several kits for all the different variations, like the Batmobile!
  3. Still green here in my part of the great White North!! Mildest November on record...we had a bunch of rain yesterday and today that would have made for a heck of a dump of snow if it had been several degrees colder. I'm debating on whether I need to get the mower out again...the grass is pretty green! Very unusual for here.
  4. I'm a fan of Herbie. Several of the movie cars ended up repainted and used for years as, well, just Beetles...I have the PL kit, but haven't built it yet...I don't recall what concerns were addressed previously. I don't care for the front bumper much, personally, that I recall from pictures...and the plate light. Maybe the sunroof cover was a bit thick, too? I'd have to find pics or dig out the kit. Hope you share before and after pictures at least!
  5. Thanks, Aaron...I appreciate the info.
  6. Looks like stock and custom by the wheel covers and 5-spokes and 2 sets of tires.
  7. Welcome!
  8. Just as a follow up question...can someone tell me how much standard mail (envelope) from the US to Canada is?
  9. I had to narrow the tub. I cut the very top edges where the tub meets the tops of the doors...you can see it in the first picture. I had to narrow the chassis by about 1/8 inch on each side and shorten it a touch at the rear.
  10. Just got the contingencies left to go! (Mono T-Bird #21 Citgo, aftermarket stickers bought in 93! are attached) Box stock, white spray can, Testor's orange brush paint...mixed up the grey chassis paint with a dark grey and white to lighten it up (didn't have any light grey paint on hand!)
  11. Just popped in to check in with you guys...I don't have a FOX on the bench right now...or other Stangs to post in any of the other build threads! All looking good! I fit a T-Bird Turbo chassis under the Mark VII body to build a sketch pad car...Just basically did a chassis/body swap with the two kits. The wheels on the VII are pinwheels from the Cougar XR-7. Sorry for the pics...taken late one night at my computer desk!
  12. Okay, so I was having fun getting this one moved along now that it is back on the bench...building is done, just the remaining decal work to do and it's done! Used a Drew H Pit Pass article from Oct 93...Thanks, Drew! Kit is the Monogram Morgan Shephard #21 Citgo T-Bird-Aftermarket decals were actually cut, peel and stick vinyl that I bought in 1993. I'll post when I get all the contingencies done.
  13. Maybe I'm thinking of a postal money order, from a bank...in the amount of the postage. Maybe that is a way to go. Would mean they'd have to deposit a money order and buy a stamp.
  14. I think we in Canada can buy an international postal coupon or voucher or something to that affect to include with the addressed envelope...been a while since I've had to do something like that, with the internet the way it is. If Moebius will accept that from a Canadian customer, then we're good to go. I'll also send Dave a PM.
  15. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgviving south of the border...We in Canada celebrated already back in October, so we've just got the leftovers about finished up!! Enjoy...
  16. Great build! Love it! I hope you got some fresh bread for your efforts!!
  17. If I get bogged down in a build, I have usually put it aside...mostly in a pile near the bench...sometimes for many years. Some do get finished eventually - I finished a Baldwin Motion Camaro that was approx. 18 years in the making and probably sat for the better part of ten plus years before I finished it finally last year. I find sometimes it takes finishing a quick build to get the creative juices flowing. A prefinished curbside for example. A low parts count snap kit. Some other subject, like a ship, plane or sci-fi build. Maybe I work on some details on my garage diorama...just something else to help the skills, build up confidence again, get the excitement and enjoyment back and actually get something finished to put on the shelf. I have probably 5-7 builds that are started at this point with many more ready to start at anytime. I'm now trying make a concerted effort to finish those off before starting another build. I've got a 92 NASCAR T-Bird on the bench now (#7 Kulwicki Hooters) that I started about 1993/94 or so...I recently finished a Dodge A-100 van build that was started several years ago, just as a couple of examples. I guess my message is...there is nothing wrong with you. It is all part of this hobby we all love and sometimes we need to refocus and readjust based on ourselves. The best message is, no matter what, always do your best to HAVE FUN with the HOBBY!
  18. Jeff-Restorations are fantastic. Thanks for sharing your builds! Wonderful pieces of history!
  19. I'm using Chrome with no problems.
  20. Awesome deal! I've had both for several years and haven't built them yet. I got the Torino at my LHS still sealed for about $20 and the Petty car off eBay for about $25.
  21. Well done!
  22. "stock wheels, blah im not 50." I just turned 49... Love the 928...still looks fresh today. I saw one the other day out on the road (later 928S4) and man did it stand out in traffic!! The 924 was originally designed for VW, but due to market conditions, VW backed out. Porsche had it developed far enough that they marketed the car as a Porsche...the rest as they say is history!
