  1. That sure clarifies things!! Nothing like having the rules in black and white! Awesome!
  2. More like GMA "Global Model Addicts"!
  3. Now metric I know something about!! Canada went to the metric system in about 1974...I still "translate" metric to Imperial measure, Deg C to Deg F etc...My kids, on the other hand, need a lesson on Imperial measure! Just as a few quick conversions for you: 1 Imperial gallon is 4.54 litres...1 US Gallon is 3.8 litres...32 deg F is O deg C (freezing point of water), 212 F is 100 C (boiling point of water), 100km/h is 62.5 mph. Okay...that's it for today!
  4. July 20 '69...I would have been 6...Star Trek was one of my favourite TV shows of the time, too, but I think I started watching it when I was older!! Other faves were Batman, Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby Doo, Lost in Space, Thunderbirds...just to name a few!!
  5. Piece of metal pipe, fits inside roof of model, masking tape sticky-side-up on top. Hold to paint model, then stand it up to dry.
  6. Cool links...I've got the Buzz Aldren Saturn V kit to build...I loved the Apollo program growing up...still remember watching the moon landing on the small black and white TV at the cottage!
  7. I got one of those lifts...way cool...never seen another one! As for painting parts...Mostly, yes, I do paint all sides of most parts. If they glue together and are the same colour I generally glue first and paint after cleaning them up, like an engine block with a moulded-in oil pan...no seam on the real oil pan. The inside of bodies, outside of interiors and topside of chassis, yes...just because I know and also so that there is uniformity of colour. Good topic, Virgil!
  8. Well, seems we both got duped!
  9. Stereos and wheels are transferable to other vehicles, though.
  10. That is directly proportional, Harry...scale dimensions are linear. Yes, counter-intuitive, for sure, but physics wins!
  11. The one building difference between A & B...I like A.
  12. Terry...sorry if I missed the link in your post...didn't show for me...Really interested in the gassers and would love to do a few phantoms.
  13. Why is it that the cars with the loudest stereos seem to be driven by people with the worst taste in...em...music??
  14. I haven't built any yet...got a "Miss Deal" on the back-burner. Have been kicking around ideas in my head...
  15. Amazon.ca also has it. http://www.amazon.ca/How-Build-Altered-Wheelbase-Cars/dp/1934709263/ref=reg_hu-rd_add_1_dp
  16. SUV, actually, Harry...
  17. Jerry Sims, aka LUKE57 passed away just over a year ago!! (Nov 25, 2010) Time flies! ...A NASCAR plate frame would have really made it! Or a case of shine in the trunk!!! Miss ya, Jerry!!
  18. Well, that is just cool news! Awesome!
  19. I thought the cars looked familiar!
  20. Happy Birthday!
  21. Ed...Happy Birthday...and many, many more...I hope you have a wonderful day! Cheers!
  22. Greg, are you and or your buddies on the lovebugfans.com forum? I've been there for ages...I'm slowly (very slowly) working on a '67 replica.
