  1. Looks great, Jim!
  2. There's some cool customizing stuff in that kit! I stole the windshield and the front grill and bumper for a convertible resurrection a while back and plan to use it as the basis for a Post Apoc build. It is a wonderful reissue of a significant kit in modelling history.
  3. Besides not eating the yellow snow...I warm the spray can under tap water, the model is at room temperature already, then take the model and the can outside (we have a mudroom/laundry room in our house that leads to the garage and a door from the garage to the backyard) spray, then bring it inside. If the paint is smelly when drying, I leave the model in the cold garage for a while before bringing it inside. Bright colours can leave interesting overspray on the snow!
  4. Can't judge a book by it's cover comes to mind.
  5. There is a 1:25 scale city or country in the Netherlands called Madurodam...not as big as Wunderland but still cool, being outdoors and in 1:25!! Between these two, Eyegore must be in eye candy heaven!
  6. Wowzers...Barry, too cool!!
  7. There is a website that has tons of info, background and video. It is all in HO scale. They modify existing kits or scratchbuild. There is a working airport that they have fun with from time to time (Christmas time Santa and the reindeer land and take-off) with a crash crew that can be 'dispatched' to the 'crash'. The computer work is as amazing as the modelling. The little vignets and details are truly astonishing. Here's the link to the website.
  8. Wow, Doc...good luck! Hope you've got your vitamin supply all set up along with the scrapple! Happy weekend! (Hey aren't there guys that build during the 24 hours of LeMans? You should be able to build 3 kits, no? )
  9. Very cool with paint on it! Wow!
  10. "Monster Motorsports" Miatas are wicked. I think they were the first to transplant the Ford 5.0. The top drawer conversion had body kit and suspension to balance it out. The "sleeper" was a 5.0 5 speed transplant with either a T-Bird or RX-7 rear suspension with no body mods (saw pics of one with tiny steel wheels). I'm sure that was a handful when you put your foot in it, just like when Carrol started putting Amercan V-8s in little English sports cars!! Google search for images: http://www.google.ca...1922l3.6.4l13l0 Found this website about Monster Motorsports: http://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-mazda/monster-miata/opening-topic.htm

  12. Indeed...I've been known to actually read an entire real book once in a while!
  13. Things like books and model kits don't need batteries! Hope you aren't out for long!
  14. Technology is great...until you have a power outage...then the old tech works great!
  15. Front wheel for the 1/12 Mustang...Cool builds!
  16. I gotta say that I can do some things, but others take some doing...as for being tech savvy...I can't keep up...My flip cellphone has one option that I do put to use regularly and that is the "off" button!! My 3 kids are more savvy than I am and my youngest recently bought an iPhone and gave his iPod Touch to my wife. They're happy, as am I!! There are supposed "technological advances" that are not really looking like advances to me, especially when it deters human interaction and conversation. But I'm "old" so what do I know!! (I'm 49 going on 5 (yes, five), by the way!)
  17. I think I'll use the 77 Mustang II kit for this build.
  18. I'm gathering parts for my build...I think it will be based on the 61 Styline Galaxie that I robbed the windshield and front grill/bumper from. We'll see what I can do with that landyacht as a base.
  19. Sorry for your loss. Pets are family members. We've got two Jack Russells that are 11 & 12 and starting to show signs of aging (aren't we all!). Take care and God bless.
  20. Rob - on the photos. Your background is in focus, so your camera is too close to the subject. Is there a macro setting available? Adding another light source or taking the pictures in natural light will help. You can always crop and resize the picture with photo editing software(I use zoombrowser EX to crop and adjust brightness and then I use Paint to resize the photo for posting online as I use max resolution setting on the camera). Just passing some experience I've gathered in photographing my own models.
  21. Nice looking build. Savannah Beige? My 1:1 '67 resto project was originally SB.
  22. The builds are all great. I had a hard time picking just one. Well done to everyone who won a monthly contest. Bravo! I picked the Ferrari from them all as the build is great and the photo really is fantastic, too!
  23. Truly Exceptional.
