Any update on eModelcars? Still down 2011-12-21
Tony T replied to Tony T's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Free is great, but a small fee would not be unreasonable. Hopefully Gregg sees this...I've got a few kits I'm thinking of selling, so I thought of emodelcars first, but it isn't there. Not a rush to sell, but just wanted to see if it would be back up soon if at all. I'll send him a PM as well... -

bBurago diecast kit...was a quick build, detail isn't great...basically an unassembled version and was prepainted. It was given to me by a friend...I liked the colour and will be fine on my shelf...or as John T says...good enough for the girls I hang out with!! Here's one of those girls now... I didn't bother taking a picture of the chassis or underhood...it just isn't worth it!! It's just plain, well...bad. More accurately, rather toy-like, but good for my intent to use it as shelf-filler! Plus, it gave me a 2 digit build count for 2011...this is #10!!

I bought this Galaxie as a built up. It is reasonably nice, but was done with brush paint. My plan is to rebuild it as a period Grand National NASCAR done in a certain style as a (second) tribute build to a builder who passed away last November (Jerry Sims, LUKE'57). It will probably be in white or off-white, and I may hand letter it, depending on what I decide on as the final overall look. I started by drilling out the taillights and headlights and capping them with sheet styrene and so far I've cut out the back seat from the interior. It will be built as a curbside, as was Jerry's style. Here are a few pics of the model so far.

What magazines do you get?
Tony T replied to bbowser's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't subscribe directly by mail...I get SA & MCM from my LHS, as he's kind enough to put these two aside as they come in. I feel I am doing a little bit to support my LHS. I will occasionally pick up Tamiya Models, Fine Scale, Hot Rod, Car Craft, Muscle Car Review, Air-Brush Action, hot VWs or others from time to time, as the interest strikes. -
Nice work! Are you planning on moulding in the rear wheel well skirts to remove the seam? Looks like you had done that in your photoshop picture.

My great aunt had a 4-door the same colour!! Nice build so far!

Today I'd like to thank Drew Hierwarter for his inspiration to a build I did a few years ago...'32 Jalopy Racer... Thanks, Drew! -
The last show I entered in the Box Stock class, they allowed only BMF and paint (no wires, aftermarket parts, flocking, etc). You had to provide the kit instruction sheet with the model. It should indicate what is allowed, but the idea is that you build with what came in the box. Some have been creative with the sprue (melting the sprue to make wire), but I think that can be open to interpretation by the show judges.

Don't they have to colour the rubber for the tires to be black? Hopefully a fad that goes the way of fluorescent chassis lights... -

Today I'd like to thank Peter Lombardo...your vacuformed creations and model building in general is inspirational...I do still have the dual-cowl body in the 'to-build' queue and do hope to get at it in the new year! Thanks, Peter! -
