You saved it! This looks awesome and was well worth it. Even through all the ups and downs this project it was fun to watch. It looks straight out of 1989. Good job.

FoMoCo66 replied to FoMoCo66's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models

Grandpa's Soxs and Martin Cuda Glue Bomb

This project is still postponed but I had some time to get the top painted. I used rustoleum metalic blue that was lying around in my garage. The only thing I'm not super happy is the c pillar line I got some bleeding. That might be because of my tape which is just blue painters tape. What tape work's best for you at a somewhat cheap price. Thanks for your comments. FMC66 -
AC 289 Sports MkIII, starting with a Monogram Cobra
FoMoCo66 replied to Matt Bacon's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nice. good job. -
Yup that's right. I'm pretty sure I knew that. I heard it's because people didn't like the vertical fins. It's pretty funny that with age and quickly the ford grew less popular and the chevy grew more popular.
-
Yup I totally agree. The chevys are cool but Ford all the way.
-
Nice I should do that to my mpc 67 vette that I'm working on but... whatever. Yours makes a world of difference it is 10 times worse on the 41 plymouth than the 67 vette to. Good job

Ha you did the opposite of what I did to get the drag slicks under the car. I made them out of a soda pop can because I didn't have any evergreen plastic (before I was on this forum and frankly didn't know it existed). This was a rebuilt glue bomb and didn't know what to do with it so I made the tlb car. I know it's a hardtop but at least I added a post right. Will delete if they take up to much space You can find a pretty accurate bbc with tunnel ram from the revell 66 malibu with revell 67 chevell valve covers.

EXACTLY!

Rolling wheels. Almost none of my wheels roll. Only the super box stock ones that fit extremely well without glue roll. Also if they are the old amt promo style chassis those are kind of hard to not make roll. But with your situation there is no need for rolling wheels and you certainly didn't fail your kit. Plus rolling wheels make them more likely to fall off the shelf.

So does this mean we aren't going to see any more of this for a while. If so?.

I have built this kit and the side glass fit just fine. Here's a picture of the side window.the Lip is very small but it fits.

1969 Camaro A/SA (possibly Thomas Arnett’s)

? we've all had that happen to us. Little oopsies are just part of the hobby. Looks like you will have to end up stripping it. Such a shame?↔️. -
T-Bucket (the pickup kind)
FoMoCo66 replied to OldNYJim's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This will be cool. I love t buckets roadsters, trucks, c cabs, tall t's, exet. -
Yeah they are! Stuffing a big engine into a 20-30s ford kind of reminds me of this 26 t pickup with a ford cammer in it! This guy could still fit his hood on to. Link: https://www.motortrend.com/features/1926-ford-pickup-find-427-sohc-ford-motor/amp/ Side note: I might have to build a model inspired by this truck.

Ok. Whatever works ?. It might just be me.
-
Looks good but is it just me or do those rear slicks look a little small ?. Either way I love it.
-
Looks good. Looking forward for more. This was a video that I watched for amazing inspiration. He built a pretty good replica.
-
Not gonna happen
-
Awesome. That's a lot of plastic surgery going on there.
-
He said it. That's probably the best way to do it. For the rear you could also heat them up under a candle and flaten them a little. If your going to do that, I recommend bending them to see if the hight is right first then setting them with the heat.

You can't even see into the rears there so DEEP. Nice start, looks good.

Replica of my 1970 Superbird Tribute car
FoMoCo66 replied to Superbird McMonte's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks good. I've never polished a model before and I've always wondered what grits and what types of sanding pads/paper people use. If you could enlighten me on what products you use that would be great. This is my most shiny paint job ? I think polishing could make my stuff look like yours (much better than mine). -
Thanks
