Cool project! I watched the Luca Cee review of this, didn't realize how cool this kit was. Are you going to use those wierd corvette wheels (on a 57 chevy) or something else?
-
Thanks Tim. I knew that it was a bbc from the revew, I just wanted to make due with the engine it comes with because it's more fun that way?. That's also why it's called "MORE accurate" it's not perfect but it does the job.

Amazing work as usual. In your WIP you can really tell the work you put into this promo style chassis to make it look really good.

Thank you. I do agree it does look a little toy-ish, Round 2 did a great job redoing the rear wheel wells from the original. I think that in of itself makes it look a lot more realistic.

How To Make Some Easy Driving Lights
FoMoCo66 replied to oldcarfan's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Awesome! I love it when people use random stuff and make them into cool stuff like that. -
Yeah, we probably blame AMT a little to much for the stuff they did. Besides they gave us something to make problems with, then solve them our self, we should be thanking them.?
-
Thank you Sir.

Here's another update. Got the wheels done. I sprayed them with some satin finish clear coat then put some black wash on them, personally I think it looks way better. I also added some blue Sharpie to the bearing covers. The wheelie bars came on the chrome tree, that means I had to strip them. Painted them white then did some detail painting. heres a moch-up of the engine bay without the inner fenders moched-up. I also did some modifications to the headers, now they look like SBC headers. Oh and the collectors almost did not exist so I made some out of plastic straw. Again, thanks for looking, comments are much appreciate. FMC66

What did you see on the road today?
FoMoCo66 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Saw a 55 thunderbird, a plymouth duster, a project bug, and a 65 gto that I wasn't able to get a picture of. Id say is a good day for car hunting. -

That rust looks so good. Did you paint it black than apply the rust powder or how did you do it? -
I listen to the beach boys all the time. My favorite are their car songs like 409, Little Duece Coupe, Shut Down, Little Honda, Cherry, Cherry Coupe, Custom Machine, and This Car of Mine there might be more I am missing. I don't know but they just strike that car, that hot rod nerve. Here's a Playlist I made. (With Beach Boys songs) https://spotify.link/PAZDAmulSJb

Nice job on the shiny stuff. Just realized this, that's the same color scheme I did my 1/16 scale 57 chevy convertible (original release). -
Cool project!
