  1. Are you saying it's time for a '41 Plymouth build-off? I think the only one to make out on this one might be Coca-Cola.
  2. For his next act Jim will chop the top on a '41 Plymouth. Hold your applause 'till the end please.....
  3. Days on end he sat watching film noir that he forgot about everything else, most especially hygiene.
  4. and chocolate syrup
  5. Workout videos made better money for Jane Fonda then most of her films.
  6. Thanks guys for all your input, guess I'm just having a run of bad luck. Just went through my collection or spray cans and I see they are all made by Rustoleum. Maybe Rustoleum is the culprit. Thought I had some Krylon but I did throw some away a while back. This is an example of the problems I've had. The interior tub below was sprayed with Flat Black. The inside was sprayed first and that came out fine. Flipped it over when dry and the outside came out shinny. Same can of paint sprayed on the same surface with no more then an hour in between. So the weather couldn't have changed all that much from one side to the other. And I'm spraying inside in a paint booth. This was maybe a week ago. I just now took the same can and sprayed a hood and it came out flat. Another thing I've observed is you always took a can of spray paint when you were done and turned it upside down and sprayed to clear the nozzle. If you turn these over they continue to spray paint. So I find the nozzles clog regularly. I can't wait until the Tamiya order gets here.
  7. Tinsmith forgot to give me a heart.
  8. Jim, what if you make a cut down the center of the roof starting at the windshield to about the midway point. And insert a thin triangular sliver in between. That should bring your peak back. WDYT?
  9. I believe February is the last issue.
  10. The chassis is from the 66 Galaxie that I cut the middle out of. I was told once that the open chassis from the T-Bird will fit the Galaxie. Never tried it. If they reissue the '67 after I'm done that would be fine by me.?
  11. I hate those zoomed-in photos when you see something you can't with the naked eye. You can't see it, but now you know it's there. Do I fix it or pretend I didn't see it. Or go off and do something else for a while until your brain forgets it even happened. Then you feel better until you look at that zoomed-in photo again. Arghhh, I should have burned it, the photo, not the car.
  12. It looks good with the black. Just so you know this has the standard interior and technically the dash should be camera case black. Woodgrain was used on the pony interiors.
  13. Process was a quick one according to the aliens, made me feel better initially but lately I feel lost in space Dr Smith.
  14. Film is the reason we wash resin before trying to paint it.
  15. Yes, I guess you could say it's temperature controlled. I have a ridge vent that runs the length of the roof that allows heat to escape and I have a large gable fan that turns on automatically between 85 and 90 degrees. I've been up there in August and it's no hotter then it is outside. I've stored things up there over 30 years now and have yet to find an issue.
  16. I have two more of these in the attic, I will take a look at them and see what they have.
  17. On the road to Morocco I road a camel
  18. A lot of this is going to depend on whether the key is "chipped". If it's chipped you will have to either go to the dealer or a locksmith that can program keys. If it's not chipped just go out and buy a new ignition switch which should come with two keys. However you didn't mention if that same key opens the doors. If that key opens the doors or trunk you should probably go to the dealer so you can get matching keys.
  19. It's a real live grill ?
  20. Little further work done on the front end. I drilled out some "pockets" for the front springs and found a piece of "spring" in the spare parts bin. Adds a bit of detail so the lower control arm doesn't look like it's floating in mid air. An interesting thing about this Galaxie is the promo body has 428 markings and the kit body has 427. You can see the '7' sits a bit high so that was probably done later. While we are talking about the body there are other differences. The underside of the hood has no detail as the hood is secured shut and no one would see them anyway. The kit has detail but it's not accurate. Wanted to give the hood some detail so I started with a piece of .040" styrene sheet and cut out a square which I then cut into quarters and rounded the points. The underside of the hood was sanded smooth and the pieces I made glued in place. These will be painted to represent insulation later on. I also added some strips to represent the understructure. figured it's better then nothing. I next added some strips on the inside of the fenders to represent the fender lip. I will mimic some bolts there at a later date. The radiator support has two holes in it but no radiator. I marked out a spot for the radiator after finding one in the parts box that will fill the void. I cut out a 'U' shape in the support mainly as it was easier then cutting a square hole. I then created a top for the support and shaped it to better represent the real thing. And at the same time I'm plugging the holes At the other end of the engine bay we needed to find a firewall. Back to the parts box and I came up with the orange one below. It's not an exact match for the kit firewall, the one on top, but the shape is close enough to work with. I removed the master cylinder as I will replace it with a more detailed one, and I filled the cutouts on the top left and right. Then added a lip on top. Inside the body I put two strips to mount the firewall against. And now it's found it's home. That's all for now. C&C always welcome. Catch ya on the flip side.
