I hit them with liquid decal film before applying. They didn't break; they wrinkled when I applied setting solution and never flattened back out.

looking for the red/yellow/orange hood decal for an MPC El Diablo kit (GMC version of El Camino). First one I tried was water damaged, second one reacted badly with decal solution.

Had a broken wire shorting out to the engine block, blowing fuses as fast as I could plug them in. I spliced in a new connector, since it was actually broken off there. I soldered everything with resin core solder and shrink tube over any bare wires. Mowed twice uneventfully, but now no electrons are flowing to anything with a fully charged battery. It's now a honey-do on Sunday.

An interesting observation: I have three identical releases of the Lindberg /AMT '34 pickup. The last one I picked up has tire melt, but not the other two. I wonder if it was storage conditions or just different batches of tires.

So many kits in my stash. So many ideas in my head. So little time. That and the weather never co-operating when I am ready to paint. And of course glue that will attach anything to your fingers, workbench, jigs, etc., but not the two parts you want to join.

I can build whatever I want, however I want to.

leaving space between cars when stopped is to allow people a chance to get away from carjackers, kid nappers, etc. (or a pickup sliding at you on ice-- been there; I no accident because I had enough space to turn into a parking lot). But a full car length is more than what is needed for evasion, if you actually know how to drive. I guess that is where the lack of spacial awareness comes in?

The decals are from 1979. MPC kit of the El Diablo GMC (El Camino clone). I have one more set for a second try, if I dare.

Does anyone have a trick for getting decals to release from their backing? I tried some older decals last night and even after 5 minutes in warm water they would not release. I was able to carefully rub the paper backing off, but it sure was tedious and I did have a breakage.
