  1. I would think you need to apply multiple thin layers as opposed to one thick one to ensure it cures properly. Both UVA and UVB can damage the skin and eyes. But I assume commercial grade UV lights are safer than pro grade, but I still would check the precautions.
  2. Looking for a set of side pipes similar to those in the MPC Demon Vette, Turbo shark, Mako Shark etc. See photo.
  3. The type of UV light may make a difference. UVA and UVB have different wavelengths and thus react differently with materials.
  4. I haven't used this type of product, but what are the safety Precautions? I would pay attention to the safety recommendations. UV can damage the eyes and cause skin cancer (yet is beneficial for some skin problems)
  5. you will find that part on the bench right in front of you. 6 months after you finish the build with a substitute part.
  6. The guy who ran a red l and went straight for the center lane I was turning into, almost taking my bumper off.
  7. You could look at model train siding or corrugated roofing products from Plastruct, Evergreen, etc. There is also the craft paint method. Find a pattern you like (kit sourced bed cover, half round glued to sheet stock, etc). Make a mold of it. Brush thick coats of craft paint onto your mold and let dry. remove the paint form your mold, trim to shape, and glue onto you seat, door card, etc. I've seen several posts under the WIP thread, but have yet to try it myself. Craft paint is flexible when dry, so it might be easy to work with instead of having to bend all of the half round.
  8. "But officer, the sign says park within marked spaces, not space"" There is nothing on the sign that says you have to use only one space. Or how you park in the marked spaces.
  9. My fellow styrene addict brothers and sisters: I'm thinking this kit will be my next project. First, the tires are kind of melty after sitting for over 20 years. Are there any sources for 1/9 scale motorcycle tires? Second, has anyone built this kit? Just wondering if there are any issues that need addressed while building (aside from interpreting the instructions)? So far, I've only found one build thread (In English as a second language) that stated the exhaust doesn't fit well and the supplied tubing doesn't fit the molded pins
  10. I loved his music. Rest in peace Mr. Schifrin
  11. Cheap, discount store gloss black. To my eyes it matches the gloss of older chassis black. But I only build shelf models, mostly OOB.
  12. Sealer is something you might consider if painting colored plastic. Colors from the plastic can bleed through paint. I've had orange colored plastic bleed through the when I applied a tiny spot of Mr White ton top of the primer.
  13. Totally agree on AC. Summer is here, with daily heat indexes in the 90s-100s until Oct.
  14. V8 60 was introduced for '37 and lasted into the forties in the US. In Europe it lasted longer. You might see if you can find European Ford kits of '37 into the '50s (I think) kits.
  15. We all woke up today and the world did not end! Tomorrow will be filled with peace and love, as long as you don't check the news.
  16. 92F and 41% humidity now. tomorrow night: tornadoes, 2" hail possible
  17. 78 F and 45% humidity.
  18. Malibu Pro Street photos. No rear suspension/ rear end, no glass. both A-pillars bent on green body.
  19. Perfection is not always beautiful, but beauty is always perfect. (think of that custom car that fits the "just because you can doesn't mean you should" saying)
  20. Summer is here. Upper 80's- lower 90's next few days, followed by mid-upper 80' for the next week after that.
  21. As stated, ash would definitely affect flights more than ships. But I would go. Alaska is incredibly beautiful. I was stationed there for 3 years and did have one flight home delayed a day by ash.
  22. That drawing is definitely an improvement on my least favorite generation of Vette. Can't wait to see it Under Glass!
  23. bright orange early '80s Vette. And a Trans Am from this year's "Bandit Run". Fans of Smokey and the Bandit came to town to visit the Cora, the elephant from one of the sequels. But it suffered an issue. After driving behind it for maybe ten miles we caught up to it on the side of the road after we passed through a cloud of blue smoke. Plate number was EST BND.
  24. You will be back at the bench in no time. Just stick with the therapy plan. And if you feel you can do more than they tell you, ask.
  25. I need to start a poison ivy removal business. I seem to be immune. If only I were younger...
