  1. It has been a long time since I built the Prestige release of it, but I think I need to agree about the seats being under-scale and the doors did sag when you opened them (I was, and still am. mostly an OTB builder). Otherwise, it was a great build.
  2. I would have to defer to the more experienced builders. But I would think after polish and before wax. I know wax and grease (and rubber/ vinyl treatment) must be removed before refinishing a real car so the paint adheres properly. I would think the same would hold true for adhesives
  3. They said we were supposed to get 6-9" Tues. night - Wed. We had about 3". Below zero last night and maybe tonight. freezing rain tomorrow morning and 40 degrees in the afternoon. Tomorrow night- Saturday they say maybe an 1" and back to single digit temps Sat night. Wouldn't be surprised if we get more.

  5. I've never had Krylon, Rustoleum, Testors, or Duplicolor clears cause problems with decals. Other brands of paint, yes. How old were the decals? Old decals are notorious for breaking apart. Did you print them? If so,did you use the correct decal paper for your printer (ink jet or laser) and did you seal them before applying them? Are they aftermarket? If so you need to make sure you follow their recommendations

  8. for me subject matter (pre-90s in subject and style) is my priority. build options is second and accuracy is third. That said, my stash is large, and another mustang, camaro, tri-five, '32 Ford. etc. won't get my attention.

  11. The point about it being original is a valid one. I personally would have tough time choosing whether to chop it or not. For my 2 cents, the chassis, engine, and interior really should be sympathetic to a '60s era custom. Mixing modern trends with '60s custom just doesn't work for me.
  12. Nice build. I appreciate the craftsmanship, but the 3/4 rear view just doesn't appeal to me. I can't quite put my finger on it.

  16. Carl, you have my sympathies. I felt that when the Eagles lost the last time. We shall meet again! perhaps next year? I thought it would be closer.

  18. You made the right choice to save it. Perhaps a slight chop? 3" or less. And keep the wheel choice period appropriate.
  19. those rocker panels, lower fenders and quarters on the Packard make me want to get it on a lift to check out the chassis before committing to buying it. that said the topside does look pretty solid.
  20. My stash isn't going anywhere. In addition to over 300 kits, I have two shelves of full parts boxes.
  21. I think flat, clear paint is the best option. You could try laminating two layers and tinting the glue along the edges with some white paint or flat clear.

  23. I would try it. If it hasn't leaked yet, it probably won't. As a non-engineer, I would say spraying it would reduce pressure and decrease the likelihood of failure if anything. plus releasing the compressed gas inside the can actually cool what's inside (look up auto-refrigeration effect), again reducing pressure
