  1. There are some 0ld WIP threads on the forum on builds of this kit. one has some good pics on how to make better hinges.
  2. A rollback with a '70s IH pickup cab. Looked like it was hauling an '80s AMC-Renault. Couldn't get a pic since I was navigating a round-a-bout.
  3. I know this is a very old thread, but from the pics, I count three mufflers/ resonators, even if the post is correct that the cat is under the oil pan. That doesn't seem like something I would do if I were building for performance. It would restrict exhaust flow too much.
  4. I believe there were also male and female figures in the Club De Mer kit. Might be a harder find.
  5. As is, it doesn't work too well. As stated, some flying buttresses on the roof would help. So would new wheels, re-shaping the rear wheel arches, and concealing l the headlights in the grille instead of pop-ups.
  6. It's a question of which math they used: old math (easy and straight forward) new math (complex and too many steps), or the other math taught in schools now.
  7. Remember, there was a time when you could order vehicles with equipment you chose. Heaters, radios and electric wipers were once options. Now you can only buy what they want to build. And further, the dealer could install options if the factory wouldn't.
  8. Actually the last few days. How can they say something is free, and then charge you for it? I've been trying to find a free radio station to stream the Four Nations hockey games (I can't justify another TV streaming service). All the searches for "Free radio" brought up streaming services you have to subscribe to and pay a monthly or yearly fee.
  9. I will file that bit away for future use. I have never used PE. I just thought the bond would be as strong as the bond of the wax to the finish. But models aren't handled frequently, so I assume it is strong enough then. I've heard of people using clear paint to attach PE. Would that still work?
  10. It has been a long time since I built the Prestige release of it, but I think I need to agree about the seats being under-scale and the doors did sag when you opened them (I was, and still am. mostly an OTB builder). Otherwise, it was a great build.
  11. I would have to defer to the more experienced builders. But I would think after polish and before wax. I know wax and grease (and rubber/ vinyl treatment) must be removed before refinishing a real car so the paint adheres properly. I would think the same would hold true for adhesives
  12. They said we were supposed to get 6-9" Tues. night - Wed. We had about 3". Below zero last night and maybe tonight. freezing rain tomorrow morning and 40 degrees in the afternoon. Tomorrow night- Saturday they say maybe an 1" and back to single digit temps Sat night. Wouldn't be surprised if we get more.
  13. Not sure if it's been said, but any year Ranchero. or a 60-'63 Falcon
  14. I've never had Krylon, Rustoleum, Testors, or Duplicolor clears cause problems with decals. Other brands of paint, yes. How old were the decals? Old decals are notorious for breaking apart. Did you print them? If so,did you use the correct decal paper for your printer (ink jet or laser) and did you seal them before applying them? Are they aftermarket? If so you need to make sure you follow their recommendations
  15. I would love to see this subject in a new or even re-release.
  16. I have some Hot Wheels bought in England over 20 years ago in that size packaging.
  17. for me subject matter (pre-90s in subject and style) is my priority. build options is second and accuracy is third. That said, my stash is large, and another mustang, camaro, tri-five, '32 Ford. etc. won't get my attention.
  18. best wishes! Hope to see you back at the bench soon.
  19. How about gold mylar from a ballon?
  20. The point about it being original is a valid one. I personally would have tough time choosing whether to chop it or not. For my 2 cents, the chassis, engine, and interior really should be sympathetic to a '60s era custom. Mixing modern trends with '60s custom just doesn't work for me.
  21. Nice build. I appreciate the craftsmanship, but the 3/4 rear view just doesn't appeal to me. I can't quite put my finger on it.
  22. a '58 MOPAR, a '70 Torino 4 door, and a black cyber truck.
  23. the one's that sound like stuff rattling in an empty can? I can't stand the ones that sound like that. Give me a glass-pak or Thrush any day.
  24. Not as close as I thought it would be. Now, how do I find an Eagles championship jersey in Chiefs country (I prefer to shop local).
