3rd grade, they sent us home from school early. I got home to find my mom on the couch crying in front of the TV. Wasn't fully aware of what was happening but I knew it was big. Later I did a scrapbook (which I still have) of all the newspaper articles for the next few weeks. Got a Cub Scout badge for it. Everything changed that day.

My latest completion, from the Model King reissue of a couple years ago. Curbside, basically an unassembled promo so it went together pretty quick. The color is kind of a champagne gold over ivory that I thought looked pretty classy. A nod to Rich and his class of '59, I love that model year. The height of excess, batwing Chevies and tailfin Caddies. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Nice clean build, very nice model. The missing white lettering on the tires is glaring however. Otherwise I love it, Tony's my favorite driver nowadays.

I use Photobucket, it's free and so far no issues. Others here haven't been as lucky however.

Peter, what a gloomy outlook. Unfortunately I think you're correct. As corporate America figures out that it's cheaper not to provide health insurance (just as they no longer provide retirement benefits) the middle class gets squeezed some more. The day is coming where if you need a "car" your only choice will be an electric econo-box that guides itself via GPS so you can play with your I-pad during the commute. Charlie, you've got my vote for tenure right now! Good luck, you'll need it.
