Looks great. Those decals must have been a bear!
  2. Very nice. Great model!
  3. Nice!
  4. Funny isn't it? Big bands were the rock & roll of the '40s, and our grandparents hated it. I'll bet they thought Beethoven was modern noise back in the day
  5. I agree completely, but looking back without the rose-colored glasses there was a whole lot of "excrement" back in the day as well. Who could forget the Monkees (manufactured band, but I liked 'em anyway) or "Yummy, Yummy"? How about "Dizzy"? Or Dave & Sylvia? I have to disagree about country. Country from the last decade was a lot like old rock & roll but now it's cowboy rapper wannabe's (with a few exceptions, I love Miranda). That said, there will always be people creating music and putting in the long hours to learn an instrument. We'll just have to find them ourselves on Youtube et al instead of being spoon-fed by the music industry.
  6. My dad gave me first "dibs" on mom's '64 Grand Prix when I was 17. Red with black interior, buckets, auto on the console, 326 small V8, the trick aluminum 8 bolt wheels. I learned to drive and parallel park in that car. I couldn't afford it at the time. Just as well, I probably would have trashed it I wish I still had the '65 Dodge window van and '53 Ford PU that I had while in the service.
  7. Great model. There's a 1:1 of these prowling the roads around here (not a Hurst, but a droptop) and yours is spot on. Love it.

    Blue Bug

Very nice. You could buy a brand new Beetle when I was in high school for $1,800, and many did!
  9. Very nice model. You did a wonderful job, love the 6-banger.
  10. Not impressed. Looks like some kind of fish from the front view.
  11. Sharp looking Dart, great paint work!
  12. Us NASCAR guys have to stick together on this site, we seem to be few and far between.
  13. That is very cool. Love the stuff from the '60s.
  14. Always liked the Hot Wheels cars. Nice.
  15. I like it!
  16. Great model. You nailed the original.
  17. I take it to mean a Polar Lights stock car kit?
  18. The 1/20th scale turbine car was from the previous year, my holy grail kit. Parnelli sat side-by-side with the turbine engine, lost the race because of a $6 bearing with 2 or 3 laps to go in 1968 I think? Colin Chapman came back the next year with this car after the sanctioning body choked down the engine and they still outran the field. I was at the time trials most years back then with my dad and uncle, still remember the silent "whoosh" when they went by. It was a bit unnerving!
  19. I worked for years as a cable TV installer and drove a van just like this, rust, dents, and all. Great job on the ladders and rack. You've inspired me to do one of my own!
  20. Great model, period perfect. Outstanding job Ron!
  21. Great model. All that work paid off in spades. I especially like the interior and the blue tint on the windshield, nice touches. I really like this a lot, and my condolences on the 1:1.
  22. Great model. Right up my alley!

    68 Charger

    Very nice!
  24. Nice job! Clean foil and decal work. Interior looks very convincing. Great model.
  25. I like it. Saw many on the road back in the '70s in this style.
