Thanks for all the nice comments! I'm lately really into these 'big iron' builds from the 50s-60s. On the bench now is a 70 Monte Carlo that will be Bobby Allison's 'Coke Machine'.
Very cool model. I always thought the Fiero was a neat little car that didn't get enough marketing love from Pontiac. They were screamers with the 6 cyl, would be awesome with a V8.
Google images is your friend. I believe they were tube-framed NASCAR styled type cars IIRC. Some research should find out if they had truck-arm live axles or independent rears, they all used a basic GM 358 ci engine. Probably your best starting point would be one of the ASA cars from Revell?
Bill Stroppe Racing was big back in the 50's and 60's running Mercurys. This is my take on Parnelli Jones' ride #15. AMT Craftsman kit, I built it as a curbside. Cady decals, layering them really blows. Hope you like, comments welcome.
Do a Google image search, there are many variations of the #5 Kelloggs car. The interiors of all the cars back then were basically gloss gray, black seat and dash.
No shows around here close enough for me to attend. That's a big reason I love this forum, a chance to share pics and ideas with others without leaving the comfort of home. Before the Interweb I could only guess at what was going on in the real world.
