  1. Great model. Nice clean job on the foil. I like it a lot!
  2. Great models, right in my wheelhouse. Good job on both.
  3. The interior was done with decals from the kit and paint detailing. Thanks for the kind comments.
  4. I found this photo online of a downscale Belvedere and fell in love. I thought perhaps the trim changes might mitigate the flaws in the AMT body that everyone seems to notice. I sanded/ground off the Fury trim and left the thin side spear, which to my eye appears straighter than before? I added scratchbuilt B pillars that are 2mm longer than the window opening, which forced the roofline up a bit. I also found some steel wheels in the parts box and whittled the stock hubcaps down to 'dog dish' size. Otherwise the rest is built box-stock. It's actually a very nice kit with quite a bit of detail. I would have liked a 6-banger to complete the 'low-buck' theme but with the hood closed who will know? I really enjoy modifying kits from top-of-the-line trim levels to something a little more mundane. Hope you like, comments welcome.
  5. That's a great looking model! Very nice clean work, congrats.
  6. Mark, to be honest I have no idea what blue I used! I don't keep notes (I should). I know it was metallic and in a rattle can. I built this back in the early 90's. Bill, you're right in that Dover just isn't the same since they made it concrete. 500 miles was a grueling test of man (person) and machine back then and it's lost something being shortened. I get the whole TV thing and short attention spans these days but it just ain't the same!
  7. Maybe within the next 5 years, a scanner and printer affordable for the average hobbyist? I think these technologies will revolutionize the hobby.
  8. Brett makes a great point, Ford outsold Chevy in '57 so why do you never see 57 Fords at shows?. Great models, and indicative of what was on the street back in the day. The Custom and 150-210 were much more prevalent than the Fairlane or Belair.
  9. I like it. Great decal work as always John. Don't see many Taurus'ss (Taurusi?) completed.
  10. I subscribe to the mag and love this forum. Many thanks to Gregg and everyone else that keeps this thing going. I actually enjoy reading the occasional nay-sayer, gives me food for thought. After all, if it weren't for the crazies I wouldn't look as sane!
  11. OMG that is awesome! I love it.
  12. As others have said, Outstanding!
  13. The more the better. Mine is a 12 megapixel and was less than $100 at the time. Just like computers, more power for less money as time goes by.
  14. Very cool. This Hudson kit has breathed new life into old NASCAR modeling. Great job.
  15. 3/2 and I haven't seen it yet, I'm a subscriber!
  16. Looks good. I like the engine detail, just enough without going over the top. Nice job.
  17. Great looking models.
  18. Very nice clean build of an unusual (to us In America) subject. I like it a lot.
  19. Wow, I'm surprised it was that late. Can you imagine Martinsville or North Wilkes in a 73 Charger with drum brakes? Talk about nerves
  20. ROFL! Too true.
  21. Beautiful car! The end result was worth the effort you put into it. I love it.
  22. That is awesome! I too would love to see this in plastic, or perhaps a Mercury variant?
  23. Very nice job. If I had started with 1/43 I would have a lot more room in the display case . Richmond was always one of my favorite drivers. One of the first to bring a little 'Hollywood' to the good ole boys!
  24. Outstanding models. Love them all.
  25. They are all awesome, I'm very jealous. Great find.
