  1. 2 great models. Looking forward to their progress.
  2. Add my congrats. Great model!
  3. Looks great, love the wheels! Nice clean job.
  4. Very cool collection. I've been getting more and more into the older stuff. These are great, looks like you do a lot of research. Hope to see more!

    VW 1300

Very nice, brings back a lot of memories. These used to be everywhere on the roads, I remember when you could get one new for $1,800! Now they are a very rare sight. Excellent work.
  6. Johann, the kit comes from a new manufacterer named Moebius. They've released 2 versions of the Hudson (the other is Tim Flock's NASCAR). They are also due out with a 55 Chrysler 300 that a lot of us are drooling over. They also released a tractor trailer rig and have some more stuff in the works. The Hudson is a great kit, well worth the time if you're into the subject.
  7. Doh - 'head slap'. Why didn't I catch that?
  8. Also, weren't driveshafts painted white so they would show up when they came out from under a car in a wreck? I love this build btw, got one of my own in the case.
  9. Excellent model! I followed your WIP, glad you stayed with it. Looks period perfect.
  10. Almond or I used Ivory on mine.
  11. Sweet, very nice job. Truck in the shop before a race, no decals?
  12. I knew there had to be money in there somewhere!
  13. Nice builds. Welcome, there's lots of great folks and good tips here.
  14. I don't understand why 'likes' on FB mean anything? Does it put more money in someone's pocket, that's why all the emphasis? Not just for ModelCars but every company / website / marketer wants more 'likes'. I don't get it, but then again I remember black & white TV !
  15. Not orange peel, grapefruit peel ! Looking forward to this, love the big boat Ponchos.
  16. Nice work on the chassis changes and seat. That's a great looking seat, I wonder where it comes from?
  17. Excellent job, great finish. I agree about the kit. I built one a couple years ago and it gave me fits.
  18. They came today! Many thanks to Mikes Decals, great service and great prices. I think I can combine both sheets and have just what I need. Now I just have to get in the mood again.
  19. Great start. Winged sprints are the most awe-inspiring sights on the track. I can't imagine trying to wrestle one around a 1/4 mile of dirt !
  20. Nice subtle weathering underneath, great truck.
  21. Love 50's Pontiacs! Nice job.
  22. I've seen tissue paper soaked in Elmers used, but never tried it. Sorta like paper mache? (sp?)
  23. I'm in the middle of nowhere here so there are no local shows/meets. I like the idea of emodelcars, just unsure about shipping. I'd sell all the kits for cheap $$ but I don't want to get stuck paying more for shipping than I get. What does it cost to ship, UPS vs USPS, insurance, etc? Patrick, I'll put together a list and PM you, see if there's anything you're interested in. Thanks
  24. I've been looking at my collection of unbuilt kits (spring fever you know) and there's a lot that I know I will never get to. What is anyone's experience with selling lots to outfits such as ModelExpress and the like, versus selling on eBay or Emodelcars. I'm not looking for a bonanza of cash, more to clean out the attic. I am a total newbie to selling anything on-line as far as shipping, etc and don't want to get in over my head or have it end up costing more than it's worth. Anyone care to share their experience? Thanks in advance!
  25. Harry hit it right. Different generations communicate differently. For those of us old enough to remember B&W TV, our parents didn't understand our obsession with the 'new media' and their parents didn't see the big fuss over radio. And now it's our turn to not understand . If you're standing still you're losing ground.
