  1. Great builds. I've got a Fairlane on the bench right now, hope it comes out 1/2 as nice. I really like that Olds.
  2. LMAO!! Where's Natasha?
  3. Way back on page 1 someone referenced the train hobby, how it's a billion dollar business. And this is years from when people regularly rode on or even saw trains frequently. I can't tell you the last time I saw a train, most of the tracks around here have been pulled up and turned into bike / snowmachine paths! It's a way to relive a more 'romantic' era, call it nostalgia, wishful thinking, stuck in the past, whatever. As long as someone thinks a 57 Chevy or (insert favorite car here) is cool they'll want a miniature replica. And if they want more than a diecast to buy and display they'll get a kit and build it their way. The hobby has ebbed and flowed over the last 50 years and I think it'll be around in some form long after we're gone.
  4. Back when Hendrick was a one-car team IIRC. Or was it the 5 and 25?
  5. I like it, dog dishes give it a definite sleeper look. Please do the foil at some point, that'll really set it off.
  6. I love it! Chevy could have sold lots of these back in the day. Nice job and welcome back. Sometimes the styrene bug lies dormant for years but it always comes back.

I don't think the insurance lobby would agree . Great idea and execution!
  8. Not my style, but I love Impalas. Nice job, great color.
  9. Great looking car, nice job on the decals. That was one of the first that I tried that didn't have nice straight lines separating the colors. I remember watching 'the crash' live on ESPN. How he ever walked away from that is beyond me. They stuck a mic in his face as he was riding the golf cart back to pit road and he said "we'll try to get back out there for points" or words to that effect. Wow.
  10. What a great project! Looking forward to seeing more.
  11. Great models. I still have an old issue of Stock Car Racing from 1987 or 88 when they first introduced the new 'down-sized' bodies from GM, and the centerfold was the #43. It was love at first sight and I'm still smitten . Great job on the Miller deuce, and you don't often hear about Dick Trickle anymore!
  12. Nice job on all these John. I really enjoy your clean builds of the lesser known rides, brings back a lot of memories. Those Montes were the class of the field back then.
  13. Great model! Black is tough, you did an excellent job.
  14. Very nice job. I always thought this was one of the King's better looking rides. The Pontiacs came out with the new body style a year or two ahead of the other GM divisions IIRC. I like it a lot!
  15. Yesterday got a Chrysler 300 and the Tom Daniels Street Fighter 60 Chevy sedan delivery. I've got plans for the long roof.
  16. Great looking wagon. I wish more of these were kitted. I can't justify spending on resin.
  17. I just got mine yesterday as well. Great looking kit, I can't wait to build. It looks every bit as well concieved as the Hudson.
  18. X2 Looks like its based on the old 'Tennessee Thunder' hauler?
  19. Wow, another one gone. He will be missed.
  20. Nice looking body but for a Benjamin? I think an 80's Cutlass would sell well, and Jordan outlined a good plan.
  21. These are great. I hope Moebius gets a lot of mileage out of the tool and that encourages MORE!

    49 Ford

Tailpipes look just right for flamethrowers. If it was me I'd have the rivets a little smaller, but loving the taildragger stance and stock roof. Keep it going!
  23. Posted 15 April 2012 - 10:49 PM there are VERY few 50's cars that look good chopped in my opinion, so no. it wont be getting chopped. I agree Mark. Outside of the 49-50 Mercs (and they don't look bad stock height) I think the stylists in the 50's got them right the first time. Like where you're going with this.
  24. Great comeback! Love those Cats.
  25. Art Deco meets Batman! I like it a lot
