  1. Awesome build Dave. Great engine detailing, the pulleys really add pop! Mark has always been one of my favorite drivers, remember the Stroh's T-birds?
  2. Great foil job on the skinny trim around the windows and wheelwells, I know how difficult that is! Love the color, stripe delete was a good choice. Great model!
  3. Wow. That gray and black one with the painted stacks is just too cool. I don't know much about the big rigs but these are all cool.
  4. Nice color, good clean build. I like it, Chevelle's are always cool.
  5. Great story to go with an awesome build. This is more than 'just a hobby' to a lot of us on this forum, and you've taken it to the next level. Congratulations and best of luck to you and yours.
  6. I love the rear 3/4 view, the batwing at it's finest! As commented before, great model.
  7. Also a nice gauge of how far you've come in skills. I go back to my early builds every once in a while when I'm blocked for inspiration, it helps except I want to redo them all ! The new rainbow car is looking good.
  8. Very nice, you do outstanding work Tulio, glad you joined the forum.
  9. Great job, nice save.
  10. Interesting history. How did they fare in the races they ran? I love that they ran whitewalls .
  11. Excellent build, even tho it's not a Galaxie . Great job.
  12. This is awesome Lanny! I'm loving the interest being shown in the 'Dark side' cars. Great job, your foiling looks good, nice job on the decals. These must have been impressive at the track back in the day.
  13. Great idea! Definitely keep the chrome bumpers and trim, I hated the monochrome look, but love the big meats and over the top engines.
  14. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I stretched myself on this one as I usually build OOB and learned some lessons on the way. I am inspired by all the great builders on here and have more plans in my head than I can possibly complete.
  15. That is so cool! Whoever would have thought to make an Edsel into a racecar. I love it.
  16. Finally finished, been working on this one off and on since Christmas. I cut the back of the chassis off the Model King re-issue and grafted on an AMT 90's Cup car rear to get the truck arm-coil spring suspension. Decals from Cady, I tried doubling up the door numbers but the red stripe still bled through. Oh well, there's always something. Hope you enjoy, comments welcome. Here's the link (I hope) to the WIP http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54419
  17. I'm calling it done. Could have added a few more contingency decals but I like the cleaner look, like it's fresh out of the shop. I'll be posting some more in the NASCAR section. majel, that's the way the headers came, I just painted the wrap with a flat tan. I want to thank everyone for their kind words of encouragement during this build. Ken, I'm flattered. If you try the 'back-halved' chassis make SURE your cuts are square! I could have saved myself a lot of trouble on this one.
  18. Clean, simple, elegant. Great job.
  19. I like it. Excellent job!
  20. Nice job on a difficult kit. I had lots of fit issues with mine, nearly every part needed some sort of massage. Looks great.
  21. Yes if you put them side by side it would easily show up. What I meant was if you shrunk a Cup car down to 1/25 I don't think it would be noticable. But Harry is right, unless it's a superspeedway or show car they are not that glossy.
  22. Good start, look forward to more.
  23. From the original post: "Thought I'd post my most recent build. Modified nose and wheel openings, fuel filler and overflow and flipped exhaust to right, added dash wiring, antenna and roof camera pod." Maybe calling it a 'build' could be misconstrued, but it's obviously been worked on. IMHO that qualifies it to be shown and admired.
  24. At 1/24 or 1/25 who's going to be able to tell? If you were building an 1/8 scale maybe, but even then that's getting pretty fussy.
  25. It's getting close. Trying to finish it off tonight, we'll see if the god's are smiling. Thanks for following along...
