  1. I have a work-issued cell, but it doesn't work at my house or in my town. Rural area in central VT. There are still many areas of the country that have little to no cell service, that's why the 'gummint' is handing out big grants and trying to auction off the airwaves to get cell and 'broadband' access out to everyone.
  2. What are these 'texts' you speak of? No cell service in my area so I haven't succumbed yet. I suppose it's only a matter of time....
  3. LOL, I know right? I've got the Flock kit for the NASCAR. Looking around for decals, I think I want to do Marshall Teague's Hudson as I'll probably do the Chrysler 300 as Flock's car.
  4. Wow. A lot of work but it's coming along well. You'll have a 'one-of-a-kind' when you're done. You should inquire if a willing resin caster might be interested in using your master?
  5. Sweet build Harry. Those colors look just right!
  6. Very nice, love the color. Great job!
  7. Thanks everyone. Mike, it's Rustoleum 'Painters Touch' gloss Sage Green, with an Ivory top. I rattle can everything since I don't own an AB. I'm always prowling the hardware stores and Wallyworld for new colors. There is a surprising amount of choices on the shelves.
  8. Dealing with the public is tough, no matter the situation. I try to look at it from their perspective but that doesn't always help. Makes me wonder about their upbringing, privileged or not.
  9. Started the first of the year, finally finished it last night. OOB, only foiling added. Foiling was a bear around the side glass but otherwise this was a great kit to build. Thanks to Chuck Most for his building tips. My only gripe was I wish there was a more positive mounting scheme for the hood ornament. That was a nail biter! Thanks for looking!
  10. Not my 'cup-o-tea' but an awesome job! I just love the '59, excess to the extreme. Great job.
  11. Fast Freddie, huh? Thought that might be it. Keep us posted!
  12. Great idea! Maybe a small dio titled *%$#@.
  13. I think someone will take the plunge. If Dodge is serious about being in NASCAR (as it appears they are) they will find a team and work out the engine issue. I love the cars running in Nationwide now (the Mustang and Challenger) and NASCAR sees the advantage (about time!) of recognizable cars on the track, they want that for the Sprint Cup as well. I like the new Dodge, have always liked the looks of the Charger body style.
  14. I would and have built replicas for friends as gifts but would never build for commission. As Erik said, it then becomes a 'job' and I don't want this hobby to ever become work for me.
  15. Keep it going Mark. I know you'll do it justice. Who's car do you have in mind?
  16. Days of Thunder was Top Gun in race cars. Hokey, but as close as we've got to a movie about NASCAR. Tim Richmond also had a career in Indycars. Very talented driver. Looking forward to your build.
  17. Cool paint. Can't wait to see more. I think a G machine/lowrider would look great.
  18. LOL! Me too, the eternal optimist. This one took 1st in category in the one and only show I ever entered several years ago. This one is my favorite, took a concept to conclusion and actually scratchbuilt some parts!
  19. Great job! I love those big old Fords. Keep them coming.
  20. The 'before' pics are how most of my builds looked when I was a kid . What a great job in restoration!
  21. I like it. Love the lines of those Riv's. Great job on the interior.
  22. Love it. Those big Ponchos from the '60's are awesome. Great job. Those do represent the 8 lug wheels Pontiac was using back then. The center section was actually the brake drum with fins for cooling, while the wheel was kind of a 'wide 8' arrangement. My dad had a 64 Grand Prix with those wheels. Loved the look, hated rotating the tires .
  23. Great start. I love this kit, very well molded and detailed. I'm currently working on an Impala collection. Keep it going!
  24. Great tip Lanny, thanks! I'll have to try that on the next one.
  25. More progress. More tedious masking and shot the red stripe, baked overnight in the dehydrator. I'm pretty pleased with it. Normally I get at least one or two boo-boos where paint seeps under the masking and needs touch-up, but this one is looking good. I must be holding my mouth right Hope to start decaling tomorrow during the Nationwide race. Thanks for looking!
