  1. Congrats. Now you can look forward to lots of junk mail from AARP

    68 Camaro.

Very clean, I like it a lot!
  3. I just finished this kit. I had a good time building it, the front sub frame in particular is very cool. Only problem I had was the hood was warped, wouldn't lay flat against the front fenders the way I wanted.
  4. Thanks! I'll do just that.
  5. As other have said, the instructions are another invaluable reference. Are they always correct? Of course not. But in nearly every kit I've built there's at least one part on a tree that I can't identify, either because I've not seen it before or it has only a vague resemblance to what it's supposed to be. And Harry is right, no way you build a Pocher without them!
  6. For me it seems white and red shades seem thicker to begin with and harder to brush well. Silvers and metallics flow well but need complete and frequent stirring to keep the pigments suspended. With practice you'll be able to tell what needs thinning and what doesn't. Sometimes it takes multiple coats (such as red on white plastic) to get complete coverage. Don't get discouraged and welcome to the hobby. You may become a styrene addict if you're not careful and start wearing red pajamas and smoking cigars
  7. I had a subscription to the mag that my wife neglected to renew I have since renewed and received issue #164. Trouble is, I missed 163 and 162, both of which look great. Is there any way to purchase recent back issues? I looked on the home page and the store but don't see anything. Does the kahuna have a solution? Thanks in advance!
  8. Will be good to see him back out there, but sometimes it's sad to see former champions getting lapped and running 3 laps down.
  9. Very nice. You do such clean work on the neatest obscure subjects. I love it!
  10. I use Micro Krystal Clear. It might take a couple of applications but you don't have to mix it. I've also used Elmers for headlight lenses but it doesn't always dry completely clear.
  11. Wow. I may have to try that wagon! Roof from a '65 Chevelle wagon maybe?
  12. Nice looking car. Love the old CanAm stuff.
  13. I hope it's flame retardant with that stogie going!
  14. Sepia tone is a process of tinting a B/W photo for effect. Mostly from the 19th century and newer stuff made to look older (you and the little miss as a sheriff at the fair?). Great dio by the way!
  15. Please add my kudos as well. Great paint. As a former photographer, direct sunlight or a single light source indoors is almost always the worst setup. That's why you always see pros using lots of light sources and/or reflectors to soften if not eliminate the shadows.
  16. Really cool, Mike! Just the right amount of weathering and great dio pic.
  17. Great link Harry, thanks!
  18. Here's mine, bone stock. Great kit, I really enjoyed the build. Oops. Just realized this is the '61. Here's the '62
  19. X2! Bristol, Martinsville, N. Wilksboro, those are (were) great races. I think they're all trying to emulate Charlotte, but they'll never have the history behind them.
  20. The reason F1 isn't watched more is because it's all over after the first turn!
  21. Or until Round 2 reissues it. Any investment is a crapshoot.
  22. I've been a fan since the early '80s when I saw my first cup race in person at Dover, and I'm still a fan - still watch every lap of every race all year long. Yes, Richard and Cale and David were great drivers, the best at the time, just like Junior and Fonty and Marshall and Ralph before them. Then there was Dale (not nearly as beloved when he was alive) and Darrell and Terry and Rusty, the best of their time. Now there's Jimmie and Jeff and Tony and Kyle, the best right now. It's always been about the drivers. "Win on Sunday-sell on Monday" brought factory support and big money into the sport in the '60s. The only difference is now they're selling laundry detergent and candy instead of motor oil and Chevys. It's the American way to market the heck out of anything that might make a buck. Can Danica make it? Has Junior? As long as somebody thinks they can sell insurance, they'll get the chance. The cars don't really matter. Back in the day everybody ran what went the fastest. Outrun by a hemi? Switch to Plymouth. Fords are bricks? Switch to Olds or Pontiac. NASCAR has tweaked the rules over the years to level the playing field, but so has every other sport. I'll love it until the day I'm planted.
  23. Killer stance, great engine details, miles deep paint. What's not to like?!
  24. Love the Pancho car, Dave. Great job!
