  1. You had a good year. Love the Jeep w/plow and the old Chevy PU with the trailer. Scratchbuilt?
  2. "Meaning no offense here, but there are model car kit builders, and then there are car modelers, if you get my drift--not trying to be insulting, but some things get compromised for cost reasons, and it's costs that drive the price you pay at the cash register, always has been, likely always will be." I'm a 'kit builder' and I make no apologies. I marvel at the artists I see on here creating detailed replicas, but I still don't have the time or patience (even after all these years!). We get what we pay for in nearly every facet of life, our hobbies/crafts are no different.
  3. Good call Chuck. I couldn't remember if the '62 still had the X-frame. When did Chevy go to the perimeter?
  4. I'm no expert but I would think the Bel Air would be pretty close. I would do some measuring to see if the wheelbases line up?
  5. I don't do many open-wheel cars, but finished this one this year. Monogram kit I think. It was a bear but came out OK. Thanks for looking!
  6. I always vote for stock, but that's just me. Like the blue, the green is..um.. different?
  7. The best gifts are made, not bought. Great job!
  8. Very nice. Clean foil work, love the wheel/tire combo. '67 may be the sharpest of the Impala's IMO.
  9. I'm blown away. Great job. Where did you get the lawn tractor?
  10. Are they all this year's builds? I'd have trouble getting 2 that nice off the bench! Great collection, thanks for sharing.
  11. Wow, good question. Finished maybe 10, bought 15 or so. Not as bad as year's past but the collection is still growing.
  12. That Kaiser is awesome, as well as the Buick and the Delahaye. Sweet pics.
  13. And how many other drivers have had that many rides? Terry and Bobby both are class acts.
  14. Look at the 'New Kit Reviews' section. Dave Metzner posted what happened and how you can get the other sheet. Simple mistake at the factory.
  15. What great customer service! My Hudson is on it's way and I appreciate you taking the time to point out the mistake and make it available here. I already have the '53 Hornet, and if the Flock kit is as good Moebius will have me hooked for life. Can't wait for the '55 Chrysler. Oh, and merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
  16. I too like the build aspect. Once they're done they go in the big case (if they're good enough), or on a shelf if not so great and I forget about them.

    60 Bel Air

Sweet! I bet dad-in-law will love it! Nice conversion.
  18. Excellent job! I love these '70's barges. Great interior work.
  19. Some very good points here. In the dark ages it was mostly kids who started with cars and we're still building some of those same tools today (Johan?). The latest offerings are light years ahead and yet still affordable. I like the revival I'm seeing in the hobby and I think it's guys (and gals) like us that are driving improvements in the quality of todays kits. It doesn't come overnight, a market like this moves slowly but surely towards what we want/will buy. Maybe we are cheapskates, but I for one can't afford or justify dropping $100 on a single kit no matter how great it is.
  20. Front row Joe! I wish he had gotten a better shot in the 'cup', he could wheel a car. Very nice rendition.
  21. Very nice clean build of a paint scheme I don't remember! Welcome to the site, you'll find some fantastic builders on here. The Old Coyote will approve! Great to see another NASCAR fan join the group.
  22. This is going great Mark. I agree, forget the engine. Cup cars are all about the body anyway.
  23. Another beautiful build O.C. Do you have access to SpeedTV? They are airing a series on this year's HOF inductees, and the one on Dale Inman has Terry talking about the title run (1984?) with some cool old clips.
  24. SouthernMotorsportsHobbies says they're in now. Nothing anywhere else I've seen?
  25. X2. Nice to see great work appreciated.
