  1. I use Micro Krystal Clear. It might take a couple of applications but you don't have to mix it. I've also used Elmers for headlight lenses but it doesn't always dry completely clear.
  2. Wow. I may have to try that wagon! Roof from a '65 Chevelle wagon maybe?
  3. Nice looking car. Love the old CanAm stuff.
  4. I hope it's flame retardant with that stogie going!
  5. Sepia tone is a process of tinting a B/W photo for effect. Mostly from the 19th century and newer stuff made to look older (you and the little miss as a sheriff at the fair?). Great dio by the way!
  6. Please add my kudos as well. Great paint. As a former photographer, direct sunlight or a single light source indoors is almost always the worst setup. That's why you always see pros using lots of light sources and/or reflectors to soften if not eliminate the shadows.
  7. Really cool, Mike! Just the right amount of weathering and great dio pic.
  8. Great link Harry, thanks!
  9. Here's mine, bone stock. Great kit, I really enjoyed the build. Oops. Just realized this is the '61. Here's the '62
  10. X2! Bristol, Martinsville, N. Wilksboro, those are (were) great races. I think they're all trying to emulate Charlotte, but they'll never have the history behind them.
  11. The reason F1 isn't watched more is because it's all over after the first turn!
  12. Or until Round 2 reissues it. Any investment is a crapshoot.
  13. I've been a fan since the early '80s when I saw my first cup race in person at Dover, and I'm still a fan - still watch every lap of every race all year long. Yes, Richard and Cale and David were great drivers, the best at the time, just like Junior and Fonty and Marshall and Ralph before them. Then there was Dale (not nearly as beloved when he was alive) and Darrell and Terry and Rusty, the best of their time. Now there's Jimmie and Jeff and Tony and Kyle, the best right now. It's always been about the drivers. "Win on Sunday-sell on Monday" brought factory support and big money into the sport in the '60s. The only difference is now they're selling laundry detergent and candy instead of motor oil and Chevys. It's the American way to market the heck out of anything that might make a buck. Can Danica make it? Has Junior? As long as somebody thinks they can sell insurance, they'll get the chance. The cars don't really matter. Back in the day everybody ran what went the fastest. Outrun by a hemi? Switch to Plymouth. Fords are bricks? Switch to Olds or Pontiac. NASCAR has tweaked the rules over the years to level the playing field, but so has every other sport. I'll love it until the day I'm planted.
  14. Killer stance, great engine details, miles deep paint. What's not to like?!
  15. Love the Pancho car, Dave. Great job!
  16. If you're gonna do race cars, you gotta do decals
  17. What does anyone figure is a fair price for the whole deal?
  18. I'm guilty of #2. They just don't get it.
  19. Very nice. I can't imagine what it was like to drive one of these things. 1 step up from a go-cart but a lot more powerful. Great job.

Very nice! Great job on a challenging kit.
  21. I built this to look like my 1:1. I was going to do a before & after but sold the car to finance a 1:1 '67 Chevy short-step pickup. So all I've built is the 'before'. I'm working on another as Bobby Allison's Coke Machine NASCAR.
  22. I've only got 1 that I will probably never build. 1/4 scale working chassis by Renwal. It's designed to accept their working V8 engine of the same vintage. I did build the engine as a kid, made a mess of all the clear block parts but it did turn under battery power. I picked it up at a yard sale maybe 20+ years ago and have carted it through my moves. The box is a little worn but everything inside is there in the original bags. There's an awful lot of nuts & bolts! I have seen it on a couple of sites for over $1,000 although I don't know who would pay that much. I will probably never build it because where would I put it?!
  23. AMT NASCARS are pretty basic, go together well. Some of the issues from the '90's had a kind of weird, soft styrene that was real easy to slip up when trimming/sanding/etc. Other than that it's all about the decals!
  24. X2 Nick. I think this is why you hang on to old builds, so you can judge how far you've come. Great job on the latest!
