Turns out my 1960 Plymouth Brochure from eBay is way way ahead of schedule, having the delivery date be sometime today, instead of August 1st. Whether or not that's 100% true I don't know, but as long as it gets here.

I've noticed other guys who've bought the '71 Olds all got the clearence price of $9. Also the reason why I got another one myself was the clear out price. But knowing the hobby lobby I go to, kits have to be sitting for years and years before getting a clear-out price. That's how I got the 1/16 scale '57 T-bird; also $9 clearence.

What did you see on the road today?
Falcon Ranchero replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Man of my word I was able to get a better photo of the mystery Merc from my last sighting, last evening, and it turns out it's a '60 Monarch Richelieu, the Canadian counterpart to the Mercury. No rear bumper and no interior suggests a project car. Second Monarch sighting after a '51 wreck car in a gully. Pretty cool. -
Looks great; I did a similar thing where I turned a '57 Chrysler 300 hardtop into a convertible.

Saw a '68 Meteor Montcalm convertible last evening, but also a Mystery Merc that appears to be a '60 Merc or Monarch. Hoping to have better photos later today... -

Pretty nice show. Apparently loads of cars were there right at 3pm when registration opened even though the show was actually supposed to start at 6pm, which is when we got there. Didn't get a great spot as a result, but it was a good show. The Bordertown Classics private collection from Barret Jackson and Mecum auctions were there, as they were last year. Didn't stay till the end because it started to pour so we left an hour before the show ended, as other cars did too. Good thing those wipers worked. The guy who restored our car also did this Mustang CS

Project '70s lawn chair is complete; officially a solid chair to sit on. No more lean, not more sag, and a reinforced structure. Took a little longer than expected since, stupid me, didn't realize the drill was set on reverse so there I was reefing on it to drill holes and it was taking forever. It's like the literal 100th time I've done that and I never figure it out right away. But I did realize and after that it was smooth sailing. I must say I am quite pleased; just to think, it was sitting in the gully for at least 30 or 40 years, and now it's as solid as any new chair.

Rotary Fest car show tonight. Already seeing the Bordertown Classics collection down the road from my grandma's heading down to the grounds. These are real deal cars from Mecum, Barret Jackson, etc. Just seen a '69 Chevelle, and two of the '70 Road Runners heading out. Show doesn't start till 6pm but registration begins at 3pm and there are a lot of cars in the collection so must be getting there earlier to avoid driving them in crowds and heavy traffic. Oh it's gonna be a good show tonight. -
Looks pretty cool 👍

Saw a "Matlock Special" on the road; Though Matlock only had Crown Victorias, there was one episode where he had a Grand Marquis such as this one for 5 minuites of the show before it got blown up. Those are nice cars. -
Started a pleasing project that I attempted 4 years ago but then left. About 5 years ago I found a 70s lawn chair in the gully at my grandma’s house, and surprisingly none of the straps were ripped, and the chair still folded out. Was broken on the front legs at the bottom; that is, the horizontal bottom piece was missing, but other than that it was solid. Ended up getting pretty far with it back then, but just left it for 4 years after. Today I spent almost the entire day on it, and I must say it’s going along pretty good. Of the three issues it had I managed to fix one today, and the other 4 years ago. The third issue is that it has an intense lean to the right, so some leg bracing is in order. May seem like a waste of time, but I like the project; gets my mind going as to how to solve these issues, and it’s quite fun. The sweet reward of it all will be when I can sit on it like a normal lawn chair.

Went to the metal dump today and I swear I saw a 1967 Beaumont four door atop a pile of other cars awaiting the crusher. Couldn’t 100% tell because there were other cars around it, and I saw it as we were leaving, and I can’t see too clearly from a distance that far without my glasses, but it was definitely a 60s car of sorts. -
Raining now, supposed to clear up by noon, and remain sunny all the way into Friday for the Rotaryfest Car show

Found out, if i'm not mistaken, that the 1960 Plymouth brochure that has larger illustrations was for the European market; Ebay has hundreds of 1960 Plymouth brochures for sale in the US and Canada, and they're all like the one i'm ordering. But One for sale in the Netherlands, printed in Dutch, is a totally different, more colourful brochure, that has also been printed in english. But there just so happens to be an entire PDF document of that brochure so I might just print that out and staple it together like a book so I can have that one for free. Plymouthbro1960_7.pdf

Ever play with your Hot Wheels in the garden?

Here's a video I found maybe 4 years ago with ACTUAL 1/64 scale cars being skillfully filmed and after launching them around outside. They are Greenlight brand cars, very detailed, and my favourite to collect. -
What Did You See In Your Yard Today?
Falcon Ranchero replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Walked down the edge of the second half of the lawn to be mowed today, trimming the blackberry plants that hang over the lawn so I don't get impaled with thorns while going by the edge with the mower. I then discovered what I believed to be a rabbit carcass that looked to have been sitting for a week. Legs, foot, and rib bones plus some mangled fur. No head, no guts. Not 100% sure what it was or what killed it, but this was the first carcass I've found here. Wasn't sure if it was a rabbit because there hasn't been rabbit activity here since May 2023, but the foot with little claws may be the evidence of rabbit. -
Re-ordered that 1960 Plymouth sales brochure, was refunded so I didn't lose any money. You'd think the guy would've knocked some price off it for the mishap but whatever. Further delayed to August 3rd instead of next Wednesday but as long as it gets here.
