  1. Sometimes you see things that just flat out amaze you. I happen to do work on a few racecars around here, the mechanical follies always amuse me.
  2. That iguana is huge. Do you see them often?
  3. I think I have the engine compartment where I want it. More detail, added some brake lines and the bale(I believe that's what it's called) for the sorry excuse for a master cylinder. Doesn't look too bad now. Also finished the interior. That's my first attempt at woodgrain on the steering wheel.
  4. Yeah, his kids did the art work. He built it, they run it. Not really my kinda thing, but it runs low 7's ,fast is fast. It's CCCRACING on YouTube
  5. This is what happens when you don't use your trusted machinist. The block was bored for sleeves, they went too deep down in the bore and 5 passes in the crankshaft exited the chat. Anyone else get a kick out of stuff like this? I put up a few pics of the car/engine so you have an idea what it is. Far from stock

  7. I like that choice, the front here isn't too bad, but the offset in rear, nope. Otherwise it's a good looking car.
  8. Very nice displays everyone has, the un-built kits in that one picture would probably consume all available space in my house. That's a collection.
  9. I completely agree.
  10. I make it a point to avoid big box stores during the holidays, I swear that Mariah Carry song causes autism in some people.
  11. I found the shifter I launched into a low earth orbit. And not where I was expecting to. I owe scotch tape a thank you.
  12. No problem, with something sentimental like this, I don't blame you in the least. It looks great, your father had a good vision with this one.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
  14. Very sharp looking 👌. I think the color combo is perfect. Display this one proudly. If the ornament is the same for a 56, I may have one.
  15. I'm honestly not sure if he had any trouble. I didn't when I registered my motorcycle after chopping it up. Insurance, on the other hand, was a whole different matter. Laws vary state to state.
  16. Started diving into some detail work and getting this finished up. Painted the engine compartment, installed the engine on the chassis, some touch up work on the exhaust, and molotow on the tips. Still have to black out the centers. Trying to not get too carried away detailing, it's difficult to know when to stop, or if it's feasible. And I really dislike the master cylinder on this kit. Look ls like a 5 o'clock on Friday attempt.
  17. Great fab work. I make up jigs and fixtures all the time at work, cuts hours out of a job most times. Who knows, this one you've made up may come in handy down the road.
  18. Nice progress bringing this one back.
  19. I've talked with Carl about the car, he's a friend of my employer, and it's very well thought out. His biggest gripe is the steering is very responsive and the car doesn't weigh anything, so its kinda darty. He street drives it when he can, but he's older and dealing with health issues from his time in the service.
  20. Looks absolutely sinister. It definitely needs the right engine to finish it off. I really like where you took this.
  21. This was built by a guy around here, Carl Hacker. Very talented veteran. Full custom tube chassis, Northstar v8, 6 speed.
  22. The smart is bad, I laugh when I see buick port holes on a honda.
  23. I actually remember those catalogs, you are 100% correct.
  24. They crashed into the "cool guys" isle at pep boys.
