I've always felt that its good business practice for any company to acknowledge that they have received your order. I just placed an order with Modelhaus and immediatley got an email to say they had recieved it and to allow 4 to 12 weeks for delivery. I now know its in their system and I'm not left hanging wondering what is going on

That one is ticking all the boxes. Well done.

I subscribed to his YouTube channel some time back. I've always liked the diversity of vehicles he covers and the way he presents himself on the show as just a regular enthusiast.

Did this spoon test of C1's metallizer
Roncla replied to Art Anderson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thats a good point Art. The ' chrome ' sprues that come in our kits are a completely different to real chromed metal. All these Metalizers and Alclad, Spaz Stix ect give us a good range of products to play with and allow us to achieve a variety of different finishes. -

I used Tamiya enamel as a base on that test and I have tried these metalizers over lacquer and 2K clear coat all with the same result. These metalizers look like powdered pencil in their containers which I think is why they come out like they do. If you look at the result they give by themself on a mirror smooth surface they look great with a chrome refection. Its when you compare them side by side with kit chrome that you see a stark contrast. I think these metalizers can have a lot of different uses but I don't see them as a way of refurbishing kit chrome that is damaged or worn. -

This is the chrome sprue from Revells' 50 Ford F1. To the left is how it came out of the box and on the right half I sprayed it with Tamiya X13 Enamel Metallic blue then applied C1 Models Metalizer. I get the same result with Kosutte Ginsan and changing the base color will only alter the color of the tint slightly. I can never get anything other than a dark chrome look -
There's some very nice fabrication work going on here. Looking forward to seeing more.

I can easily get the shine that kit chrome has but i can't get the color to look the same. Used over black I get a black chrome look and applying them over other colors will give me a tint of the base color. Applied over a base of white I get a yellow tint. Maybe I'm just being too fussy. These metalizers do work great for giving a chrome like finish but I wouldn't be using them to replace kit chrome on parts like bumpers. -

I've got both the C1 metallizer and Kosutte Ginsan powder here and find both will give a mirror reflection when applied over a super smooth wet look finish. No matter what base color I've used i've never been able to get either to look like kit chrome though. -

My local funeral home. The panels on this are as straight as an arrow -
That's one to be proud of. Looks just right.

Is Round2 models down?
Roncla replied to Mr mopar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Maybe its still a work in progress and they will be getting around to putting up a half decent catalogue of their products. When I click on AMT for example its just a long drop down list of kits all jumbled up At the very least they need to separate the cars/ trucks/ planes/ military. -

The roads down here are awash with used Japanese imports. This one was out of the ordinary. A Nissan Varietta -
Thats a nice job of blending parts. Everything flows nicely. I'd be proud of that.

That looks the part. Well done.

I haven't been able to get in to their site either. Hopefully they are updating as the current site is a dogs breakfast to find anything. -

Hobby Search is showing the 1/12 GT 40 is being reissued in late Sept. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10098338 -
That is coming together nicely. I recently bought the same Flinstone body and was pleasantly surprised at how good the body is. I can't find any flaws with mine.

Spot on. Captures the look perfectly.

Now that's a real eye catcher . The ' dust ' really gives your diorama life. Well done. I'll be checking out your YouTube channel.

We don't get to see many Airfix kits on here. I remember butchering lots of them as I grew up. I've boughtt all the reissues and even comparing them to modern kits they have stood the test of time well. There is a lot of the cars that haven't been reissued like the MG1100, Zodiac, Mini and Sunbeam Rapier so I guess the tools have been destroyed
