  1. that's what Little Johnny told the principal after being expelled from 5th grade for viewing X-rated sites on the school library's computer.* *yes; it was the first day of school, and someone forgot to block "those" sites' access.
  2. didn't that interior have some of those side mounted jump seats? may as well ride in the rumble.
  3. YT seems to have missed this opportunity. i found this while looking: https://www.customcarchronicle.com/custom-cars/history-of-the-chopped-top-01/
  4. yes. there are plenty of places which those things can be celebrated much better.
  5. here's a like clamp but much smaller diameter than the one i have or have seen. i still would not call it ideal, but since i saw no need to start a new thread, figured this was a good place to stick it:
  6. like any multi-tool, swiss army knife, or one size fits all, there really isn't one product which does everything as good as a specific. but i probably did not read the OP's question correctly.
  7. awesome; thanks x 2
  8. helpful information and great/ clear close up pictures; thanks. Q: what is " DCOE" & " IDF" ? thanks ps: if anyone would care to share a picture or link to connecting linkage, that would certainly make this thread the Weber trifecta.
  9. Mr Natural says: "use the right tool for the job" https://acrylicosvallejo.com/en/product/hobby/diorama-fx-en/brown-earth-26219/
  10. what is that . . . never mind. i don't want to know.
  11. RMCM also has both types
  12. now THAT would be worth an investment if offered on CD or download. ok; back on the ignore list.
  13. noted
  14. doesn't the Big A ship to the island? i thought they were universal; there's one in Japan. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Revell+Model+A+Ford&crid=3QTCHBH6ZX32N&sprefix=revell+model+a+ford%2Caps%2C246&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
  15. #86, #99, & Chief would agree.
  16. understandable. i have trouble dealing with adults who don't know the difference between: to & too. there, their, & they're. lose & loose. ad nauseum. (edit) it's & its. i'll start another thread for pre-drill, pre-paint, and all the other things to be done before we do something. stay tuned. certainly not the people of which i tend to migrate.
  17. it's good to have these points reinforced. i was articulating an observation made to me earlier in the week, and thought it might have some validity beyond my comprehension. obviously my first impression of same comment was somewhat correct.
  18. AMT beverly hillbillies truck has some toolboxes w/ removeable lids.
  19. i think application for forum membership should have some type of competency examination. we don't want rabble to be interacting with respectable fellow modelers. a basic arithmetic evaluation, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing mixed fractions would be a great start. of course ability to change numbers into scale dimensions is a given. perhaps knowledge of three (3) model company histories would be helpful. there could also be a few basic full size automotive questions, which while not actually be scale model applicable, would demonstrate an ability to perform simple internet search engine functions. if a member chose to articulate a post in a particular writing style, e.e. cumming's for example, there might be a place in his profile which would note same. existing members might be required to start from square one in order to demonstrate their worthiness, and post at least one time per month in order to maintain status. deceased members could have the privilege of posting less frequently, but would have their posts moderated prior to being seen by the forum as a whole. any post with spelling errors highlighted might be grounds for negative points noted on a member's profile. gone undefended, an accumulation of say, ten points, would result in a three day suspension and requirement to resubmit (edited) the post with corrected spelling.
  20. i certainly cannot disagree with that.
  21. you want me to use big letters, huh? i don't like 'em all that much. usually when someone starts a thread, that person would be the audience. methinks you've gotten a pebble in your sandal, and believe i'm the one who snuck it there. it was most likely there long before i came down the 'pike. #2. that's not bad all things considered.
  22. i heartily agree. but writing & speaking should be directed to the audience for which it is meant. following & reading the OP's posts implied there were some challenges which are becoming noticeable and might require some compensation. i vehemently support individual innovation, and decision, in all facets of life.
  23. the consideration to ponder: it's convenient to have 360 degree access to your figure = yes. but with this type of holder, how do you set it down? [ok; drill a hole in the bench. got it.] and then there's the whole breathing thing. any type of intense "in the zone" detail work requires us to control our breathing AND usually brace our working hand with the other. or fingers/ fingers. if you are tied up with a hand held vise, it lends to the complexity of task. i have one of the vises you showed, but have it sans handle mounted on a 4" square of plywood and use it as a passive work holder. on the other hand (! ! ! ) it may work perfectly for some straight from the box.
