  2. Anthony,I used testors acapulco blue lacquer, its a ford colour.I assembled the engine before paint.A semi-gloss clear may suit you better than the gloss I used http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm06_mar_1991_inter/
  3. autocars-250 cummins amt k100,w900-370 cummins A titan/astro with single stack option most likley a 290,twin exhaust a 318 amt freightliners 250 cummins general,bison-8v95n white's/diamond reo-350 cummins ROG pete's 425 cummins

  5. Nick ,great haul.Your becoming a dodge truck hoarder. We were talking about the pace car and I thought they were an 82.I googled it and they are,the box is mislabeled.GM had to install all alum.350 from the performance catalog to make them fast enough to pace.A buick riv. was an 83
  6. they also call this a truck http://www.gm.ca/gm/english/vehicles/gmc/terrain/gallery-photos-exterior01 I dont think the general knows a truck from a hole in the ground Harry you caved to peer pressure LOL
  7. the mercury sleepers were a factory option on transtars before they had their own
  8. the problem with those is that the frame work isnt realy that good, not heavy enough for a flat bed IMO.Also one of those halfs are too short so you would still need to cut and splice.Start with the amt flat beds, much less hassle
  9. for some reason the gull wing was only avaible on the conventional for the first couple years.Even in 76 it was only on the vit 200 cabover. Its like the newer step handle combo was only avalibe on a double bunk at first, high end models only when introduced
  10. The ford plow should be ok to use.I don't know about a serious accuracy flaw with a set forward axle, but why they are set back is because a set back axle can carry more weight on the front axle, plows would possibly over load a forward axle. Try googling some western state plows because set backs aren't really for the west. If you have an autocar kit swap frames, then you could build a forward axle autocar as well Steel frames were probably standard.I cant see why the engine couldn't be kept turbocharged, swap autocar or freightliner parts if you don't want it.Ford and internationals have tilt hoods with small peek-a-boo butterfly openings on each side to check oil and such so a custom hood like that could be possible. Here is a link to some brochures. The first 2 on the list will give you pics of set back dimensions, front of fender design, and butterfly hood options http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/diamond_reo/
  11. that thing is off the wall cool
  12. Im sure people went WTF back in late 62 about the new 63 or the new 68.In my day the C4 was a radical new thing. No difference here.I kinda see an Aston Martin in it
  13. When I was 8 or so in1973, I seem to remember my friends older brother opening what I think was a willys panel that had upholstery included.Later on when I was 15 or so my neghbour had a bunch of kits with boxes from when he was a kid.A few of them that stick in my mind were ones that came with clay so you could mold your own custom fenders or what ever. Am I correct with my memories about these old kits?
  14. Im sure its there for kicks and giggles, but it is a full on lightning rod.I have seen them just like that one with a glass bulb on a house i worked on once
  15. All the cheap feel of todays trucks is what O/O's hated about ford and GM tractors back when they were around. Now there is no choise
  16. thanks for that info,I didnt know they were that rare. Why wouldnt they reissue the other one? Just shows what kind of O/O he is.I know those trucks take a beating but no excuse for that. I havent seen it yet,we in Canada have to wait to the 29th for the season to start.
  17. there is a large collector following for old trucks.time and money will be a huge factor
  18. get updated steps here. http://www.ppvintagekits.com/CARS/Resin-Price_list.html
