Love that stance and the wheel/tire combo, sweet so far!

I needed the interior, along with other parts, from the parts car, the grey one in the background is missing a floor! I had to remove the rollbar which left it's mark on the floor. This type of file helped me get in there to get rid of the glue and rollbar bottoms.

I reshaped the glass units, I'll re-use them as this is not going to be a contest model, just one for the shelf. I sanded them with a 2500 sanding sponge to remove paint and glue. Couldn't quite remove the glue that once held a rear view mirror! I'll just glue a new mirror in the same place! After sanding some Novus 2 returned the "glass" to as good as new, if not better!

The first step is to remove the "glass" held in by half a tube of the good old Testor's type of cement! Well that was AFTER I removed the interior, which was also heavily glued in, of course! After some scraping and prying the windows broke loose, although in parts, that's okay though as I was going to cut it into pieces anyway. Then I used the Dremel to grind away the left overs, that old glue really holds! Finally I cut up some nail file emery boards and wet sanded the headliner mostly smooth, removing ejection marks as well.

I'm going to try and build a stock '49 Ford from a bunch of junk I've had for decades! Here's what's in the box, the green one I've have for over 40 years! The black one I bought for parts.

What colour is that? I mixed my own, and it looks almost the same! I used ONE part green, to 20 parts silver! Matching an Aston Martin colour. -

Fantastic work on this one, wow is about all I can say, other than I love it!!! -
Take your time and be patient, this will be stunning when finished, it's a rare product and rare in the 1:1 world as well!

Love the look, have you tried detailing the tail lights yet? That's where mine stalled, those tail lights are difficult to get where they belong as far as detail goes, other versions of the Aventador have nicely detailed ones, but I'm sticking with my Aoshima one. If you have any tips for me to do those, I'm listening! Cheers!

Looking great! I agree that bumpers to match the grille would look great, better than black to me, but of course it's your truck! Love the look so far though! Sweet flatty too! -
The chains covered in rubber on the tailgate are molded on, so I just painted the raised portion Tamiya "rubber black" and it has the effect of a separate piece, sort of, good enough.

I tried something different for the bed floor. I used Tamiya masking tape and cut out each strip so that only the lower part of the floor was taped, then with a coarse file I scraped the higher parts, and when I removed the tape from the lower parts, only the raised ribs were all scratched, just like I hoped

I was never happy with the headlights, until now. I used a cone shaped bit in the Dremel to ream aluminum tubing so thin that the parts box lenses just fit, then cut the tubing to oh say 1/8th inch or so, foiled the backs and slid them in. Much better now! And for the youngsters, they didn't have orange parking lights until '63.
