  1. That fail thing on youtube is pretty funny. Nothing like seeing morons at their finest hour
  2. I remember when the GF was going through menopause. She's no longer the GF. That's a good thing!
  3. I don't like those shorty's as a rule, but I've gotta admit that your idea and inspiration is pretty cool! I can just imagine that flat black 57 coming off the line. Great!!
  4. I love the shakotan/boso/granchan/hellaflush look, but I would never have thought to put it on a '30 Ford. Must say, however, I'm loving this. If anyone can pull it off, you'll do it Frank!
  5. And I cant sleep. So I'm here. Bored outa my gourd, gotta get some entertainment, thank goodness for MCM. What do you guys do in the wee hours when you cant sleep?
  6. Youve got that right Craig. I just dont "get it" how model cars so threaten them.
  7. Geez Wayne, I can relate. In 1988 I started divorce proceedings. Shortly after I came home to find all my built models arranged neatly on the floor, and stomped upon. Stuff from the early 60's to 1980-ish. I was so devastated, I didnt even look at a model for 20 years. I lost a Blue Beetle, Yellow Jacket, Un-Certain Tee, more unobtainium Monogram stuff, and a contest winning 55 Chevy. I still have the Chevy, but every time I look at the smashed roof I have issues. Best news is that I got the kid and the house. Shows what a loser the wife was.
  8. I dug the old "girls" out. They're swimming in dishwater right now. They havent seen the light of day for 4 decades. Pictures to come. It is very very easy to do!
  9. Here ya go, direct from the Lazy Modeler! http://lazymodeller.gostorego.com/
  10. Might want to hold off for awhile. I hear-tell Revell is coming out with a new tool 68 Bug. I think I read it on this forum somwhere.......
  11. I used to paint decals all the time. I was really into "hand lettering" back in the 60's and 70's. I found it much easier to paint a decal flat on my bench rather that work directly on the side of the model. I used Testor's enamels, and it worked great. I think a lot of the success came from the fact that the enamel paint remained sort of flexible, so the application process was easy. I think I still have a couple of the models I did back then, I can take pics if you're really interested.
  12. Thats pretty darn nice! I love the color combo, and how low you got it!
  13. Simply amazing Mark. Your idea reminds me of the Nota Fang.
  14. Dang, Randy, what a score! Got this one coming from Bob Black, vintage and minty!
  15. Pretty funny Pat. Just make sure there is a "waiver" granted for model kits to protect them from "redistribution".
  16. Perhaps using 3M Super 77 adhesive on the foil, then coating it with Future would help. I think even better would be to then spray the taillight and lettering with clear urethane.
  17. What they all said! I dig it!
  18. Not a model, but a slot car. In 1972 I was warming up at the track for a race. I had my box next to me open, with a bullet of a group 7 car in it. A couple homies came up to me and tried to chat as I was practicing. Well, one of the dirty you-know-whats distracted me while the other stole the car. It still irks me today, I had a lot of bucks and all the best stuff in it. I had even placed 7th in a Car Model national race. I was the only non-pro in the main. Grrrrrr. I wish a pox on their souls!
  19. Way back around 1972 I lived in an upscale neighborhood with my parents. I had a pretty nice Cal-Look bug, which got parked outside every night. Come to find out that one night EVERY bug in the neighborhood had it roof smashed in. If you know bugs, you know how easy it is to jump up and down on the roof and crush it. Mine was thankfully spared. It sitll amazes me that mine was the only one......dont know if they ever caught the little morons, but after that mine was garaged. People, sheesh! And dont get me started on "tagging" or "keying". Back in my day "keying" meant you were gonna change your locks.
  20. I actually like this better than the C5 and C6, except for those darn taillights. I would bet there will be a bunch of aftermarket kits to remedy that problem.
  21. Love Steven Wright. I remember the skylight joke
  22. Thats sooo slippery!
  23. Paint might to be thinned more, or pressure turned up. What brand of paint are you using? I've got a 200, and I find I have to get the paint/thnner/pressure just right to get a smooth paint job. Had a Binks Wren, with that thing all I had to do was get in the ballpark and it layed down great paint.
  24. Looks pretty good to me. I dont usually like this type of vehicle, but somehow the power wagon body looks great there. Might be because the body looks a lot like my Durango.
