  1. Me thinks its one O' them Chinese copycats, but Im not going back though years of Auto I.D. to find it
  2. I have Deco Art, which yielded decent results on plastic. I might choose to start there.
  3. If you dont want to strip it, paint the bucket in semi gloss, mist coats, then flock the floors. I've not had any luck in stripping Testors gloss black.
  4. I just googled "fabric paint" and got 460K results. I've seen it a Michael's. Back in the day, I did shirts with good old testors in the little square bottles. It made the painted areas quite hard, so my results were not that good.
  5. What colors? If its gloss black its gonna be real hard to strip. Semi gloss might cover, but my experience is that semi gloss over gloss doesnt give the same results as semi gloss over primer or bare plastic. Might want to cover the gloss with dullcoat and start over.
  6. I use Tamiya X-13 metallic blue and X-13 metallic bronze.
  7. I know that "globaltoy" on ebay has numerous logos. I have some Ford blue oval and a Ferrari logo. One sheet has many sizes. I would wonder if they get around licensing issues because they are in China. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-12-1-18-1-24-1-20-1-43-decals-Ferrari-1705-/180892433738?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2a1e077d4a http://www.ebay.com/itm/Decals-ford-different-scales-model-kits-1704-/170869089474?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item27c89764c2
  8. Happy B-Day Doc. Did you get styrene, cake, or fresh hot scrapple?
  9. I had a 71 Bug, built up a little, drove it real hard, got close to 250,000. Had to replace the throwout bearing, only reason I did the clutch disc and pressure plate was because the engine was out.
  10. Very very nice, and curb feelers...whoot whoot!
  11. Other than what seems to be a spoiler, thats my 93 Grand Am. Crappy car, but I loved it. Not that Pocher would kit it buy any means, but I would by it if they did.
  12. Traditional, whoot whoot! No circus wheels on this one. Oh, and the "Ace garage spl" is pretty cool too!
  13. Like the ride height, and the engine poking thru the hood.
  14. Got any pics of what you want to duplicate?
  15. Yes, it sure did turn out nice!
  16. And with a 3" chop, whoo hoo!
  17. Long been a fan of Brent, Bud, and Tim Kaeding. Wasnt the dad Howard Kaeding? Seems like Howard ran #68 and of course Brent usually ran #69. Saw Howard get into a fist fight at Antioch Speedway, might have been with Steve Kent, and Brent joined the fray. Love your work Ken!
  18. As I remember it, AMT did a 1964 Mustang. Could have been a 65. It was a convertible with the notchback top included. One had to glue it on, and it had vinyl roof texture. This is the box I had.
  19. Incredible, but then, judging by the replies, you know this. Didnt you win M.O.M. on Koolest Kruizers ?
  20. Oh dang. Now I'm gonna have to buy another to do this one. Pete..........geez........uggh!
  21. I had some Rustoleum primer that wasnt fully dried after 4 weeks. Never will use that stuff again. The lacquers, however, intrigue me.
  22. Saw this someplace else that I forget, great work Christian!
  23. Guys, Testors has both gloss and matte clears in the Aztec line, I used their gloss. Dried very hard. I polished it up with Ultra Restore, no wet sanding needed. No base coat is needed. A really great thing is that if you have a fubar, you can just re-coat the area and it blends just like the 1:1 waterborne auto paint. The Merc was primed using Plastikote, but I have found that it really likes bare plastic. If I can find any flaw, its that the pearl colors tend to ding a bit before they're cleared, but I would think if the paint was "set" with a hair dryer one might not have that reaction. I'm going to try polishing some primer to see if the paint sticks to that as well as bare plastic. The total painting time on the Merc was 15 minutes, in a dirty and unheated garage with no paint booth, clean up time included. They make 40 colors, including transparent, opaque, and flourescent. Forgot to post the link, and the pic is of "ultra restore" from innovative hobby supply. http://www.testors.com/category/558561/Airbrushable_Acrylic_Paint http://www.innovativehobbysupply.com/index.php/featured-products/ultra-restore/ultra-restore-plastic-polishing-formula.html
  24. Peter, those Aztec pearls are new. They are pre-thinned for airbrushing, have good pigment, and lay on very smooth. They dry to a satin finish you you have to clear it. Here's one of my first efforts using them. I bought mine directly from Testor's.
  25. Ive tried the Bamtam body and the Fiat on the fenders. The Fiat is OK, but the Bantam looks really wierd.
