  1. Now THATS one ambitious project Bill. I've got a few of these "saints" things, I think they are worse than Palmers. I did do an old school build in the 80's based upon this body and the frame from the AMT Willys/32 Ford double kit, but when my buddy pointed out the probs with the body, I totally lost interest.
  2. Woulda never thought to use parrafin!
  3. Thx Eric. Since I'm not the original builder I'm not certain what was done to it, but to me it looks like its OTB. All that he changed was to put the spinner hubcaps on and lakes pipes that appear to be from AMT's 32 Ford coupe. There is no evidence of any surgery performed. All of the white is bare plastic.
  4. I found the frame to be way more than fiddly. I ended up stripping all of the chrome and it became another stalled project on the bench. I haven't decided whether to use the T fenders or the ones from the 34 kit.
  5. Hmmm......... I just opened the rat roaster, and the chrome tree for the highboy that has been in storage. The axles look identical. Is there something I'm missing? Is it the frame?
  6. I'm a lucky guy. Kindly old Gepetto dropped off these Aztec pearls. Then this showed up. I never thought it would happen. And to top it off, this minty-fresh novelty from the Hon. Rev. Mr. Black. It even has the tinted windows.
  7. Granted there are some funky things for us traditional guys, but those tires are perfect. I can deal with the tube axle and the headers, and that interior, but those dang tires are so nice! And they fit the AMT 40 ford steelies!
  8. I think it depends upon the kit. I have the 32 Ford roadster pickup. Its pretty poor. I have the "1929 Tee" which I sorta like because of its vintage appeal. And I have this one. I picked it up on ebay, took it apart and freshened it up. Went back together without a hitch. One thing to beware of is that some of their older kits have plastic tires.
  9. Welcome! I like the first ferrari you posted, and it really nice to see a tuner Civic with the wheels in the correct place!
  10. I got distracted at the old spindletop bottle. Mmmmm
  11. Nice bodywork. I especially admire how you did the rear fins to accomodate two taillights!
  12. Nice! Ylou captured the color perfectly.
  13. I'm amazed at how you do things backwards. Assembling the chassis and engine as a whole, then painting, and now wiring. Then the body thing, painting then detailing....but youre getting great results. I am still flummoxed at that brush painted body. Keep it up! We all know how much this kits sucks, but your version is pretty darn cool!
  14. Real creepy. None of them look very happy. But maybe thats the idea! Then there's that "penis at eye level" thing.........
  15. Geez Johnny, that story made my eyes leak.
  16. Best thing....well...Revells doing a great job. Despite the funky chops on the 48 Ford and the 49 Merc, theyre great kits. Then comes that wonderful 32 5 window, and now this. Were lucky guys, even taking into account all the errors us traditional guys get obsessed about.
  17. Oh I only wish! Couldnt get the hang of it, tho I was pretty decent on the drums. All my guitar stuff went to my son. He's one of those "fellows" that taught themselves guitar without lessons. I'm jealous.
  18. Those look sweet Henry, congrats on finding them.
  19. How sweet. I had a similar pact with the ex-wifes cats. I hated them, they pooped and peed on my floor. About 4 years ago a friend came to visit and I discovered some cats can be quite nice. I rescued my kitty from the street, and although it took awhile, I'm am now her Mom-cat ( or dad-cat ) and love her so much.
  20. Now I'm imagining a proper 100% correct McMulllen roadster......
  21. ANY of Revells "saints and sinners" series, and all of those "Buttera" kits and spin offs. I'm no newbie, but that dang Buttera kit has got me stymied. Not gonna send 'em to you Bill, I am committed to building at least one before I die!
  22. 91% Isopropal alchohol is recommended, but some people prefer windex, future, and even acetone.
  23. Just ordered mine! Maybe one of the traditional guys will master some tweaks for Replicas and Miniatures to make this really old school. An interior bucket, new suspension, headers.....just remember all the parts they did for the Revell 5-window coupe. I cant wait to get my hands on the wheels and tires. I just might have to learn resin casting!
  24. It's on my Netflix queue.
