  1. if this is what happens when dementia sets in then sign me up!
  2. nice work on those engines, also nice job on finishing up a whole bunch of nice models I have a hard time finishing one!!
  3. I think some one made a whole trans kit for that car but I don't recall which resin caster it was . I know this doesn't help much but maybe some one else will remember or at least let me know that I'm just makin stuff up.
  4. check ebay for the rims I know there is one that sells a blister pack with 6 sets of wheels they aren't as nice as the revell units but may be suitable for a diorama. the figures several japanese companies have a few figures sets but none that are cops or gangsters over the years there have been a number of kits that came with figures (I think some one wrote an article on what figures came with which kits but it was awhile ago and I don't remember what magazine it was in)the a team van came with a Mr. T figure in a seated postion with separate muscular arms ,the gangbusters series came with a couple of figures in each kit there were about 4 cars in the series and they aren't that expensive plus they have a lot of extras guns knives safes etc. and more recently kits came with prepainted figures you just have to keep your eyes peeled .and then theres resin figures verlinden made a chp officer, chimneyville had a couple of different police officers ,jimmy flintstone has a bunch of figures you may want to check there first, and replicas &miniatures company of maryland has some figures also. as for buildings you will probably be doing a lot of planning and scratch building i suggest checking out rail road modelers books for techniques on building buildings and dollhouse stores . hope this helps get you started or jogs some memories that others can fill in stuff that i left out. good luck !

I really like the radiased wheel opening much better than skirts .nice work .i like the look but the rear deck area needs something . maybe a single whip antenna with a raccoon tail . I also like the red wheel hubs how come they aren't red on the passenger side? and the paint job looks fine to me so keep makin them shiny. thanks for sharing.
  6. if you have problems getting your parts out try wd 40 as a mold release.and don't give up try a few times and be patient with the silicone somtimes it takes awhile for it to dry inside . good luck post some pics when you are happy with the results.
  7. you could also try using a silicone gasket material to make the mold.
  8. looks fun keep us posted!
  9. that body work turned out really nice, great paint job too!
  10. Great job .I love the rims and color scheme.
  11. for the chrome trim you can use bare metal foil or try using aluminum foil with foil adhesive from the craft store .if you want to detail the dash and your brushes are to big try tooth picks I use round ones but I dull the tip down you could also try dry brushing . dry brushing is just like it sounds you put a little paint on the brush and dab it on a paper towel then lightly drag across the raised portion of what you are painting (speedo ,buttons ,trim ,locks, bolts ,) hope this helps or points you in the right direction good luck!
  12. you are better off using a brush. just spray some paint into a disposable cup so you can use the brush do this in a well ventilated area .also let the paint rest a little bit before using if you can seal the cup with saran wrap so you can touch up later because it probably won't cover with one coat.this should get you close but for it to be better invest in a polishing kit that has several very fine sanding grits and the kits usually have everything you need to smooth out imperfections.
  13. I like the color combo . are you adding different wheels or keepin it stock?
  14. I like it but maybe it should be a 4x4 seriously though neat lookin phantom I like when they look like thats how they came from the factory .
  15. great job ,I never get to see what's under these kits and it sure is a treat to see what is there and how well you put it together.

    Datsun 510

great job this is one of my favorite kits/cars.I like your treatment .
  17. I like it !
  18. I like your take on this kit it's nice to see one that actually would get ridden .nice build would like to see more
  19. this is a painting style you don't see a lot of guys tackling but you have done a great job it looks very convincing .great job keep up the great work and I would love to see your next panel job!
  20. I've heard that you don't get a lot of time sometimes so it may not be the dream job you were hoping for.
  21. would 1/32 wheels work? there may be some in the slot car section or maybe smaller scale truck wheels
  22. the biggest problem I have with hobby stores today aside from the things mentioned above is the lack of aftermarket stock it seems they make an intial purchase and once the "good " stuff is gone the rest just sits there and they never get more new stuff or even restock the items that sold well .wheels are especially hard to find .I know that most pe companies are pretty good but I still like to look at the sets before I buy them.plus if the model companies are a little slow at releasing new releases it is nice to still be able to spend 5-15 dollars on something I can use for my already purchased kits. An idea I would utilize for a nice hobby shop would be to offer an incentive for kids it would work like this they buy a model go home and build it bring it back to the store completed and receive a heavy discount on the next one and as a bonus they get free hand tools based on their completed kits and needs . kinda like a builders club to encourage them to build and improve their skills(what kid would buy a razor saw over a new model?).
  23. nice job .be careful people might think it's a nice kit and pay alot of money for one.
  24. Ohana other thing................Sorry I thought I had something clever to add but turns out it was nuthin.Carry on.
  25. that motor is a touch of brilliance. keep up the great work.
