  1. Wow. that's a lot of really top notch model buildin'.I think you finished more this year than I have in the last ten. keep it up your work is always appreciated
  2. also if it's the ramps you're after i'd look on the auction websites for parts lots occasionally you'll find them . or just keep on looking for that specific kit on those sites and eventually the kit you want will show up for a price you are willing to pay.patience is the key .
  3. I haven't looked at that kit in awhile, however,to fill a gap like that you probably want to use strip plastic (evergreen, plastruc)to fill most of the gap then use your choice of filler. the thing to remember is more plastic, less filler.or strip the chrome off the trim glue it in there then sand and sand or use a dremel until it is all leveled off and smooth shouldn't need much filler after that . hope this helps
  4. I like it.
  5. I don't know what's wrong with you but I think they call it awesomitis. BRAVO.
  6. I like those too I buy them when ever I see them. the minichamps bmws are pretty nice.I haven't been able to track down a domestic supplier for the ixo and onyx motorcycles. also it sure would be nice if someone would make some after market wheels and tires for the plastic ones especially the vintage dirt bikes in some of the older kits. thanks for sharing these terry.as far as plastic motorcylces go, don't forget about the entex ones, most weren't that great but a couple are passable wth a little work and some had drivers and side cars.
  7. is that the same company that made doorstops that kinda resembled cars?
  8. Looks great ! I like that you used after market wheels to make it look closer to stock. love the colors you used also.
  9. you did a great restoration on that one . I wish they would release this with the original parts .
  10. maybe ford shoulda built them like that too! nice work keep building and posting.
  11. I will assume you already have the flocking from kens kustom fuzzy fur or detail master or Pegasus or some other after market supplier .they usually include directions but the basic run down is as follows number 1 sift flocking so there are no lumps or clumps 2 apply a small amount of paint in the area you want to flock (work in small areas not all at once)3 sprinkle flocking onto painted area put way more flocking on than you need.4lightly scrunch down the flocking with a pencil eraser 5 shake excess flocking onto paper plate so you can reuse . this is a basic instructions that can be modified to suit your needs and /or abilities hope this helps
  12. stop it. you are making that model look good I don't want those new folks at amt to think this is a good kit.seriously though very nice work and I know there isn't much to work with there but it is turning out very nice keep it up!
  13. Great job so far .Now just how are you going to get the side windows to roll up and down?
  14. I really like seeing these built , especially as nicely as yours
  15. I am not a super detailer by any means but try looking for some rebuild schematics they should give you a good idea so you can wing it a little better.
  16. great job I wish more people would build these in that style.
  17. I like these phantom body styles when they are done well and yours is done well .I also like your choice of engine and the custom route .what body parts came from the goat and what came from the el camino?sometimes these conversions seem easy until it all has to come together any problems getting it all into a cohesive unit?
  18. nice work I can't wait to build mine I am Putting a note in the box so I remember to approach the body in the same manner. the P E front wheels look great I think that is probably the single biggest improvement on those early dragsters. now if I could just find them somewhere.
  19. Thanks Bill I tried laying down a nice two tone paint job and now theres masking tape stuck all over my computer screen .
  20. If it was a christmas present in 68 and you redo the whole thing with your current skills that is a christmas gift that is still appreciated 40 years later! If you distinctly recall brushing on the flat black and other aspects of this particular build and it takes you back to that happy time leave it alone.
  21. nice job . like the choice of engine and those rear slicks are sweet!
  22. Welcome aboard glad to have you back!good luck on the accurate general lee.I think with the current 68-69 charger kits out there you need about three of them.but it is a worthy subject to be sure.be sure to ask questions if you have any.
  23. Steve hub hobby in little canada has some of the hobby only hok paint if that's what you're looking for. and I think scale model supplies in st.paul has some also. it's discontinued so it's a little more than it used to be . at michaels they have a product by jacquard that is pearl powders that you add into your own paint that other mag did an article on it awhile ago.as for the real deal HOK paint I believe that black gold is the place to go.Hope this helps.if you have any other questions in regards to local availability pm me and I'll give ya my phone #.
  24. Geez I was just kidding about finishing it this weekend .can't wait to see the little details you can add by tomorrow.
