  1. I agree with George and CB ,I want a front 3/4 shot and a rear 3/4 shot. just what engine do ya got in there anyway?looks really nice and it is always really nice to look !
  2. I try to think of it as being feasible but I don't worry about the insides of stuff like the engine or tranmission if it is a trad rod who cares if you have a chevy trans hooked up to a hemi the scale guy who built it figured a way to make it work and he is way way smarter than me. but yeah I like to keep it real . which is why I never finish anything because I can't afford to have all those cars painted .
  3. is the 3x2 intake present or vintage? these newer flatheads get me confused as to what is old and what is current .
  4. Those guys are funny . How did you get them to talk in 1/25th scale? seriously though sweet car I haven't seen that one before . nice job on the figures too.
  5. looks good so far glad you are moving forward and have found time to build what with the new house and all .oh and more pics !
  6. Thanks guys ,I'm just trying to use something out back that I don't usually see on a model T. It's gonna be more custom than drag so no blower just naturally aspirated. I also want a lot of carbs and pipes stickin' out .I think I will use the columbia on this one and think more about the engine .any suggestions as to a kit sourced flat head that is some what unique or just really cool let me know thanks again!
  7. an early Chevy v8 or flat head ? I'm working on a vintage hot rod and just trying to keep everything period correct and feasible.trying to keep it early 60's like 62 or older . I didn't grow up then so I am unsure of what those guys may have done back then but I really like that style of rod. Thanks in advance .
  8. Wow a hall of famer,I concur with Jim. Ebay will probaly yield the best market value . If you don't have an Ebay account see if some one you know has one with good feedback as a new seller sometimes doesn't get as much as an established seller . also it would be great to see pictures of what you found if for no other reason than postertity.seeing mint vintage kits is always really neat.
  9. Gee Whiz that's impressive.
  10. great story and great build let's see how quick the next one goes!

looks great so far and I love the etched window !
  16. Bill my kits are all grok fodder. the ones that tend to stay grokked and not built are the ones that are expensive or rare enough that I don't want to screw them up . I bought an opel GT a number of years back before they were repopped but never built it because I wanted to add a lot more detail than was in the original kit .You know like real windows that roll up and down doors that open etc. however my skills aren't where they need to be for my vision so it waits . I guess it is the ones that I can't replace or are too expensive to replace .
  17. Black Death
  18. for the novus products try your local hardware store.
  19. there also a couple of good books concerning figures and modifing them. one by Shepard Paine another from fine scale modeler about shadow box dioramas .so for you potential diorama builders check out some of the books for military figures and even train layouts .the scale maybe different but the techniques are invaluable.
  20. Great job capturing the prototype .for the first time that is an excellent bmf job keep it up !
  21. the japanese model companies hasegawa, fujimi, tamiya have produced sets in the past I don't know if they are currently available but I see them on ebay from time to time. also look for ulrich mini men . there have also been figures included in kits over the years and I believe you can find most of them in resin .verlinden made a few figures in 1/24 including a chp officer.hope this helps sorry for the lack of details perhaps others can fill in the blanks.
  22. I think this model looks just fine I also checked out some of your other completed cars and it looks like you have a solid grasp on putting these together and painting . my unsolicited advice to you would be to start trying new techniques to add to your arsenal such as using a wash to bring out details like the grille and rims and engine ,bare metal foiling for the trim ,flocking for the interior.aim for one technique per model so you can keep it fun and I believe you'll be where you want to be in short order keep up the good work and have fun build for yourself and you won't be disappointed ever.
  23. I like to use a combination of adhesives for reattaching the roof depending on the application i will start out with a good liquid cement (tenax or ambroid).use the melting reaction to get a good bond and also the stuff that squishes out makes a great filler after that is dry and some minor clean up add extra plastic that overlaps both sides of the cut to make it strong again then for good measure adding epoxy or super glue for strength .as for resizing the windows after you complete the chop test fit the kit glass and see if it will work by cutting a little off the top otherwise you may have to use thin clear acetate make a template by placing a piece of masking tape over the widow and trace the edges cut your piece a little larger than needed and trim and test fit until you got a winner could take awhile or if you get lucky it'll work the first time just be patient and don't settle for almost. the rear window should be easier.one more thing to consider is sometimes the cab has a bit of a taper to it so when you cut out the middle part the top will need to be wider and longer to mate up with the bottom . meaning that you may need to add a little to the middle going front to back and side to side in other words the roof has to be cut into fourths but really just cut in half twice a second roof is helpful but this can be accomplished with appropriate sized plastruc or evergreen strips.hopefully this helps but just remember to do what makes sense to you and have fun
  24. they're only worth what some one will pay and you will accept . if you want to maximize then sell them on an auction site like emodelcars or that other monster auction site . I don't think you'll make much on the stock cars but you should do alright on the pinto. If you like these models just keep them because it will probably cost you more to replace them than you will get selling them.values for kits can vary quite a bit I've seen fairly common kits go for way more than I would have expected and I have scored rare kits for a lot less than expected so really who knows. selling models isn't a good way to make money unless you grew up in the 60's and have all those kits that will never be re-released.good luck hope this helps.
  25. interesting how something so universal can be so misunderstood. I think George's brudder took home ec and they took a field trip to the carnival and saw a pimp win several prizes including a pair of stuffed dice that after all the other prizes got shoved into the trunk of the pimp mobile there was no room for the dice so they got thrown onto the mirror and afterwards Buddy Holly saw Arts glasses and wanted a pair. shoot I should have just typed this into wikipedia.well maybe someone else will .
