  1. Here's my tip; Don't leave the stir stick in the bottle of paint whilst reaching across the bench for a pipette. I find the easiest way to idiot-proof my workspace is for the idiot to just not enter it. Accidents only happen when I'm there. Coincidence...? I think not.
  2. Welcome to the forum, Larry. Congrats on shaking off the shackles. Enjoy that bench time. Cheers.
  3. Presumably the paint has blushed? If so, let it dry then polish it out with something like Tamiya polishes (Fine and Finish). Most times a lacquer paint job that has blushed can saved with polishing.
  4. Yeah, this has been discussed quite a bit on the forum. The disappearance of Model Master paints, especially the Meatlizers, deals a serious blow to the hobby.
  5. Cool! I have a Dobberton J2000 I have parted out and still have most of the chassis. Your build has given me some ideas for using that chassis.
  6. I think that says everything we need to know about facebook, right there.
  7. I am really enjoying this build. I always appreciate a builder sweating the details. Some very fine model building going on here.
  8. That's got 70s all over it. Cool period build.
  9. Great kit bashing. That's looking good.
  10. Very cool custom van, Lee. Nice style and good looking body-work. Nice work on the paint, too. That looks like a heck of a lot of masking. Nice, clean lines. What tape do you use?
  11. Sweet Ranchero. When I read the title, I wasn't sure an old Ranchero would look good as a low rider, but I was wrong. That looks great. Perfect tire/wheel combo, nice colours. Very cool!
  12. Yeah, that can be tough. Lots of cleaning and flushing. One of those airbrush cleaning stations may help, though I've never tried one. I am actually shopping for a second airbrush to be used for metallics only.
  13. If you are willing to pay the price for a commission of a 'fine' build, be sure to see examples of the builder's work before a deal is struck, to ensure your expectations will be met.
  14. I have this intake from a Polar Lights '64 GTO. If you think it will work for you, send me a PM with your address.
  15. Nice build of a very interesting concept car, and a very cool old kit. Thanks for the good photos of the kit break-down. This is the first one I've seen built, and I have always been curious about the kit contents. Well done.
  16. That is one sweet Comet! Man, it looks good. Love the rake. Super cool!
  17. You're knocking this thing out of the park. Nice work all around.
  18. Me too. The closest thing to it I have seen so far is Humbrol satin black.
  19. That's one fine Street Vette, Mike. Very nice paint work. All round cool.
  20. Excellent work, Matt. I would have been overwhelmed by the prospect of those body mods, but you have handled them in fine style. Simply beautiful. The 289 was always the better Cobra engine (short of a Cannonball Run attempt), and a coil sprung 289 would be the cat's pajamas. I never knew of this version of the 'Cobra' prior to your WIP thread.
  21. Very nice looking Chrysler. That big Hemi should get it hastily down the turnpike. I like seeing these old kits built (or rescued, as the case may be).
  22. Interesting project, and a big fat YES on the 4-speed. Unless I am building a replica of a specific car, everything I build is manual shift.
  23. This project is crazy impressive. Inspiring work. The newly printed Webers look exceptional.
